On the Eures website,Breentrans and Baliniard Transport, have heard they don`t run cosher, they are asking for a command of the English language.Does Lord Bath, owner of Longleat safari park have any spare monkeys for hire, with bananas for wages.

Likewise with Breen, a Welsh driver blew the whistle on them.

Arer you sure it was Ballinalard? I only ask because I remember one about Breen Transport featuring a S.Wales driver called Yogi,or similar, who blew the whistle on them.

EDIT: Simultaneous postings,Chopsticks.

Are they still the same now then. Sure they would of changed.

It was Breen transport on S4C welsh language channel with sub-titles.A real cowboy outfit, the clips were on i-player and withdrawn before I could download

There was a clip about Balliniard on You Tube, hard to locate it,im sure someone will find it for us,the driver was pushed over his driving time,no 45 min break, and when he got there,he was told he was too early, and what are you doing here.

The one about Ballinalard was the Irish programme Prime Time. To be honest I’d take them all with a pinch of salt, after all we’ve seen with the Stobart programme how TV producers can make everything look much more dramatic than it is. In my opinion that daft [zb] Yogi wasn’t even really pushed that hard by Breen. Wonder where he works now.

Still not quite subtle enough, but a good effort nevertheless. dd.

Thanks for finding the You Tube, fridge firm owned by Irish RHA boss got done for employment law breaches, thats a surprise.

2 days notice for a 24 hour daily rest!!! WTF is that Tipperarey ejit saying to that driver!!! :grimacing:

Well I must say that whilst we can all choose who we drive for and how we run, it is noticeable that you regularily see Ballinallard vehicles clamped at VOSA sites.
There was 1 at Leatherhead by the 25 the other day & a short while ago I saw 2 clamped at Bingham on the A52,one of which was there for at least two days!

I thought VOSA could only park you up for 24 hours.

No 45 too. 2 of my last 3 days at a certain Dutch company were spent in Birch services courtesy of VOSA

It’s fairly common on that sort of work to inform them in advance when we need our legal rest. We text them what we’ll need at the beginning of the week so they can plan it.

Surely it’s not beyond their comprehension to work out when your 24 off is due and plan accordingly? Not trying to be controversial, just wondering.

Indeed but it’s easier for us to tell them. Remember unlike most UK companies our, and many Irish companies, trucks often don’t get back to yard for weeks at a time. Thing is it’s left up to driver to inform them when our hours are up etc. Unlike UK it’s still assumed we can think for and plan our hours ourselves. Very rare for our hours to be dictated to us. We’re given the work and we get on with it within the law.

Ok,thanks for that.Never done fridges, that was maybe why I couldn’t understand. However, when subbying with an UK truck for an Irish Co. on dry freight and away for a max.of 3 wks-all my planner wanted to know was when I needed my long weekend off(and yes, that was 2 day notice)
