2 days notice for a 24 hour daily rest!!! WTF is that Tipperarey ejit saying to that driver!!!
Itās fairly common on that sort of work to inform them in advance when we need our legal rest. We text them what weāll need at the beginning of the week so they can plan it.
Thats easy, on Monday - 45 off this weekend.
Next Monday - 45 off this weekend.
Next Monday - 45 off this weekend.

Surely itās not beyond their comprehension to work out when your 24 off is due and plan accordingly? Not trying to be controversial, just wondering.
No,normally dispatches one site āoutboundā and another does āInboundā
they donāt know about the others Work.
Normally you go out and phone the next or other day the Inbound Office telling them with which Day you are ready to load back.
If you are empty and phone them straight away then you suposed to load and go back with Weekend break already done before loading,or after retourn.
Now,if you do Friday weekend Break, then you stay till Monday afternoon or tuesday,as Friday is Loading day everywhere. But,if you load Freiday, then you suposed back by Monday/Tuesday.
thats the Office agrees with Customer.
So you have the Choice. Do Legal and donāt earn much, but get shortly a second Driver with You,with earning another bit shorter,or work with Pressure,Dispatcher donāt do anymore,as Customer push for Timing. So you would go ilegal, but would earn Great wages.
Fair comment,Lovlyperson. The firm Iām on about had what they grandly called an āEuropean deskā and anāUK deskā.I worked with one person in- and out-bound 90% of the time.He was a Frenchman, and after my first week away,Tue/Wed,depending where I was, would always ask āAre you looking for home this weekend?ā Worked really well
All the Irish firms get real bad press on here along with some of the Dutch firms like the one Switchlogic and myself worked for, but some of the so called āPrestigiousā firms do or certainly have sailed very close to the wind, and are still going today, There but for the grace of God!!!
When did you last see a uk truck in a VOSA check pointā ā ?
