If they’re on the text thingy every five minuets, do you get paid to stop and answer their enquiries?
That would do my head in, couldn’t be dealing with that all day.

soon as u stop u have to put in the reason why then press enter then wen u set away press enter so if u stopped for directons time u put reason why the person u gunna ask has gone every time u in europort u went to the office u took the chip out this thing looked like a lap top and u down loaded this is how u got paid another thing they used to do is ship u out on a fri nite out of hull for derv then weekend ya in euruport so u off the ferry 1km derv up 1km back then take time of back on ferry sunday nite so if u need fuel in uk u had to get autherrasation so lads would get the ok then put 1400 liters in so they woundnt have to ship out on a fri so tundermans started chargeing them the difference and take it out of wages

I’m surprised anyone is willing to drive for them and they aren’t screaming out for drivers and advertising on every job site in Europe if they’re that bad to work for.
My god talk about bad working conditions.

I imagine there are many in both Holland and England on the dole who would be more than glad of the 500 quid a week and sod the conditions ?

I’m on the dole and I’m not willing to work for a company like Tunderman. I’d prefer to sit at home on my £170 guaranteed take home and wait. I’m in my 50’s and I’ve never known it so bad. The only time I’ve been on the rock & roll is when I want a few weeks rest and the last time was 15 years ago. All through my trucking life I’ve never gone more the three days trying to find a job once I start looking. I’ve been looking this time ten months and although there are many jobs advertised, they are all well out of my area and only doing UK.
I’m only interested in dedicated Euro tramping and I’m willing to travel and work for any company in Euro land but I’m buggered if I’d work for a company that treats it’s main workforce with such contempt.
I’m no dosser, fully experienced and always put in the effort and give it the legal max. My best legal shift I can remember was 890ks plus waiting for the train at Calais. I got to where I planned with five min’s to spare.
My attitude is to make the truck earn the best it can, regardless of the fact the truck doesn’t belong to me or the fact I don’t get payed any extra, I live on job satisfaction.

You must be one of the lucky few who can afford to wait I wish you luck it may be a long wait and at our age the wait may just be too long for some

well thank you all for your comments and yes im going to take the job offer.

I presume the “legal 890 kms” was done through mainland Europe
On a 10hr drive that equates to an average of 89 kph,. . . not that legal then ? considering the speed limits

Speed limit is 90ks. Sat morning 5am, leaving just short of Hannover. No traffic or abnormal train problems. On the limiter all day. You don’t get many like that. :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: Tipping white goods Milton Keynes Monday morning.

I am one of the lucky ones and you could be right, experience counts for nothing these days. Employers prefer compliant novices they can train as few employers have any practical experience themselves. Most big company bosses are more interested in how many boxes you can tick than they are about anything else.

Take Tesco for example, the pay is good but the contempt they have for their own drivers is outrageous.
