Carl:
marathon is that the plastic board factory in tielt belgium in ya pic, back in the 90,s i worked for as taylor and he subbed to chambers and cook for a while we would load out of widdowsons with cat diggers or parts for belgium germany or poland one of my reloads was at said factory
Hi carl no mate thats apack lokeren they pack cat parts still have 5 trucks a day goin to belgium with cat parts still cat diggers to swiss haveny done a load to poland in years.
I was on a dedicated run CAT to Swiss for Swiss outfit. 4 wheeler -lousy job. I drove all night back to Swiss on the night of the big hurricane, but I didn’t know it was a hurricane because i had the radio switched off ,how that piece of plastic stayed on the road beats me.Must’ve been the low centre of gravity of the load. Soon jacked it in.
Thanks Carl i have worked it out now why nobody as many pictures of central freight because we did not long enough to have them taken

Thank you all for all the photos and messages. I have just retired and really do miss the life very much. Please dont think me “Sad” person but after 38 years driving and last 5 doing Ireland to North Africa to suddenly come to STOP takes a lot of understanding.
Regards Harry

Bedworth Haulage are still going strong today. They’re now based in Coventry with white & red livery.
Fairfreight were taken over by a French company, can’t remember the name though…

OK, bit of a long shot, but does anybody out there remember Max Beven from Tenbry Wells doing the Rome run with his F12, He started with Norman Jones on the livestock, before going solo with a Merc. Think he is still driving on livestock with Gilders these days.
regards Andrew.

I knew some of the Bedworth lads and Fairfreight, but can only remember Pete off Bedworth Haulage, what is interesting in that photo is the number plate on the Fairfreight motor, The daf I had for 3 years on Richard Fords was EOJ 868V
I saw a White topline and trailer with red strip along both and Bedworth haulage in red writing at the airport island on the A45 in Coventry last night
