On this weekend,anyone going?

I will be there with a few trucks of Maxwell Freight Services,a DAF105XF and a MAN TGX,orange and white. Keep an eye out i must say they both look stunning as they got polished up in a warehouse today, and please say hi.

Awaits the tirade of people who complain about how extortionate and boring it is lol.

I should be there. Probably on Sunday though.

No havent been for about 8 years same ■■■■■ different year used to enjoy it but just got boring. All the moaning hauliers complaining there is no money in the job yet can afford to bling motors up send them there then moan again after it that theres no money in the job.Must be somewhere.

Yes i shall be there working in my capacity as a judge . Ive been doing this 28 years now and still enjoy it .
Made many good friends and had some nasty comments over the years but you cant please everyone with the results

Nope wont be there this year

Would go but far too expensive for what it is.

Parking, food, tickets and travel costs - Way too expensive for looking at trucks.

will be down the road …thankfully … and it will probably pish doon

I will be there.

Yes its amazing looking tonight, whole orange chassis polished by hand,i just hope the weather stays reasonable for the journey from Belfast, the MAN looks class too, airbrushed with a tribute to the 3 Northern Irish golfers, and plenty of lights etc, thats what i will be driving, its just a pity we can only justify taking 2 up(running without trailers),the local truckfest in 2 weeks time will have a good big fleet stand.

then you will know you cant give the 2 Maxwell motors a place in the final as they arent going to be on the road most of the week.

Thats the reason i stopped going to/entering truck shows, when Friday nights/Saturday mornings i would be cleaning my motor after a weeks work, and do the tidying up (polishing)when i got to the show, the bloke next to me would say, i took mine off the road 2 weeks ago and painted the chassis, me and my mates polished it etc etc. You cant compete with that.

They are normally entered for an do well in the artwork and murals class,i know what you mean but they are both working trucks and have been on the road untill yesterday morning, and will be doing a long journey to the show so who knows what condition they will get there in,also you could have a working truck that gets a major clean down and polish every few days to keep it in tip top condition. I do agree with you about people walking in with a newly painted wagon that hasnt seen any miles and winning the “Working truck class”.

Everyone has their own opinions for and against the likes of truckfest, but i like cars shows too and go to alot of truck shows locally and nationwide and i love it,its not my truck but the boss recognises the fact he has a team who love and look after the lorries and he in turn spends £0000s personalising them and puts lights and chrome wheels etc on them he knows will be cared for. We are also too busy at the minute to leave trucks sitting around as ornaments.

I,m going with a few of my workmates.

We just go for the beer and a laugh , no point in event thinking we will ever win anything.

The mud,s sill hiding underneath lol.

Truckfest this weekend for me hope the weather is good should be a gr8 wkend see you all there

Here. Might polish.

My good lady wife, me n the dog are going over tomorrow.
I’ll be off to work again Sunday.

I’m fairly easy to recognise, I sport a quite … erm … generous(?) beard
I’ll also be wearing a black polo shirt with the old TruckNet UK logo and my name on it, although my beard hides that quite well

My daughter, son-in-law and 2 year old grandson are going over on Sunday, so be kind to young ladies with bright red hair and a little boy with a gob smacked expression

saw you joining the m8 at shotts dingo, cleaned her up well.

I do apologise for some of the edges of the grass at some points, me and my mates kinda destroyed it the other week (eg the skidmarks)

Went today had a great time and even the Scottish weather behaved (well till late on)
some great trucks on display .
Even managed to catch up with “bigrig1” working away hard polishing the 2 trucks (looked stunning) nice to catch up with the memeber’s altho was only for a few mins.

Think the merc stand was probably the busiest with everyone wanting to have a look inside the new 2012 Actros, atho one of my favs was actualy a Mp2 actros Titan for cadzow , heavy haulage, plated at 300t , 8 radiators massive toy think it was a 600bhp
Always good to see some old F16’s and Scania 143’s ,some of the work that goes into these trucks is fantasic . a real credit to there owners.
