truckfest 2012

Just goes to show there wasn’t that many trucks there compared to last year. This area last year would have been filled to the rim, it either shows hard times or just down to bad weather

these guys were bored and just sat watching TV

Calling all “let’s stick together, drivers unite etc” types… Here’s your chance to make a statement.

Boycott it next year.

Better still, start an alternative show.

Now if you can all get together and make a stand, you have a great opportunity to “show them you won’t stand for being treated badly” etc etc

I would have a lot more sympathy for people who complain about this industry if they didn’t (of their own volition and in their own time) go somewhere and pay for the privilege of being treated like fools…

+1^^^^^^^^^ nicely put HD

How about a TNUK show? Or appearances at regional truck shows and rallies? No concours judging crap etc…

There you go, it’s a start…

The Foden Society has an area at the Banbury Rally, and the ERF equivalent attends Gaydon so a TNUK section would bring a bit of variety.

Just noticed the initials, don’t put a banner up near any mirrors or the censors will be in a right old moral pickle…

Not a bad idea. Perhaps get a few groups say trucknet PDF etc together to do something.
Then again we are talking lorry drivers one lot will cop the hump about something and go off in a huff and we end up with 20 different things on the same day.

Working Condition section; Wagons turn up as they finish shift. That F88 logger always does this at Gaydon and I reckon is a star of the show.

I’ll start a new thread and see what people actually want.

gogzy:
Dixon aint gonna be able to get his truck out of there lmao.

i mean look at this

Is it me but why cant the truck be put on track way you only need 2 bits for the units it would save on the mess and it would be a lot better come monday when people are trying to get out. Come on Live Promotions you could do a better deal with the track way company for next year.

Was talking to one driver who said that they actually towed that knights of old scania in to that mess. Why?

MMTM Classic! Yaaaaay!

No disrespect to anyone involved, but I cannot for the life of me work out why you would go to a show with a bog-standard 07-reg Scania or Volvo. It’s like having a car show for bog-standard 07-reg Ford Mondeos and Vauxhall Vectras.

   Love it! Let’s start a show call Repfest…

I am going to be having a nice ride out of my road in the morning. The trucks have left the road like a mud bath!

trucks are working vehicles, why not have a taxi fest or a tractor fest? cant think of anything worse than going to look at someone’s work vehicle you may as well run about on a weekend to local hauliers taking pics

There is a show at Newark I think which could be nicknamed Tractor-fest…I went there a couple of years ago with my Land-Rover.

I went to truckfest for the first time this year, it wasn’t amazing but we enjoyed the day, got some nice photos, saw some nice trucks, met Lisa Kelly, and got rained on. In fairness we did kind of run out of things to do about about 3 hours…

We took our own food and drink rather than pay through the nose for it at the show, although some of the truck manufacturers/dealers stands had freebies

I had actually heard she could be quite stand-offish and aloof but I actually found her really friendly and pleasant, but she is really tiny bless her!

Me and my Mrs got photos with her as well.
