was there today, only gate 5 the queing was crazy to get in, the parking was a joke had to park 10 mins away and walk or get the free park/ride bus which was rammed full, £ 40.00 for family, kids loved it but i wont be going back in a hurry, my best bit of the day was seeing mark dixons face when he relized his truck was sinking in the mud and the tyres were dirty lol, bless him
did he remember (or was he reminded by someone) to actually enter his motor in the competition as him and slaphead didnt on the programme last year.

WTF. and who wants to see a stobarts driver off the tele, theres shed loads of them about. time to reinvent for next year i think
there is only so many monster trucks you can show sqashing cars for gods sake year after year after year

One of the classic signs of mental illness is to keep on repeating an action but expecting a different reaction.
just got back in from truckfest,
the smith’s foden, has got a bloodly good spot. and seem’s to be dry.
as for mark and stuart, they have compleatly blown the TV’s persona about them out of the water. they are both compleatly down to earth bloke’s. many member’s of trucknet uk have had a good natter with them both, and we all agreed that mo is an arse
and marks truck is well very stuck…
philgor, which one is Stuart
parking was a total ■■■■ up, marshalls were next to useless. welcome to truckfest 2012. plus side was seeing some decent trucks both clean and muddy
The marshalls were useless when I last went; Bunch of scouts trying to tell mainly lorry drivers how to park.

Is it me but why cant the truck be put on track way you only need 2 bits for the units it would save on the mess and it would be a lot better come monday when people are trying to get out. Come on Live Promotions you could do a better deal with the track way company for next year.
must be a live promotions thing, they completely cocked our stand up for driffiled landrover show last year, ended up exhibiting in the camping area luckily next to the gateway and main show but also gave away most of our passes!!
hence why im not going next weekend!
completely missed truckfest this year.last time i went i was about 7 years old.saw my mate hiab scania sinking in the mud on facebook and laughed!hed been keeping it clean all week!
I saw the park and ride sign so i went there
yep the marshalling was rubbish but i found a spot
having already got a ticket i was straight in
fair enough it was the same old same old
but there was some highlights
Sally Boazman was funny
a very chromed american rig
Maxwells Titanic truck
Diesel Daves cuppa tea
Lucy having grown at least 6 inches
I didnt have a problem with the loos
Watched the darts
had a packed lunch with me
so didnt have to pay eye watering prices for dog burgers
The 6 pence question when will i go again
when the grandkids can enjoy it
so see you all in 3 years
Glad it wernt just me, 2 hour drive, 45 minute cue to park, 30 mins to get in, £34 two tickets, £5 sausage and chips for 1, went home after 1 and half hours.
Thats was the first and last time.

I have read the comments on Truckfest 2012 which seem to be mainly negative so here are my thoughts on it.
Is it expensive? Yes if you go as a day visitor
Is it muddy? Yes, yes, yes!
Are there lots of trucks (as well as the expensive tat)? Yes
Is it expensive to show a lorry? Could be, but many people sleep in their lorries or take a tent, so is it really expensive to go as an exhibitor? In my opinion, not really, because if you went in the camping area it would be double that, and drivers should think themselves lucky they can sleep in their trucks and not have to pay for camping as well - unless they take their caravan/motorhome as a support vehicle which you do have to pay for - but it’s still cheaper than going in the official camping area. Even to go somewhere else for the weekend (up to 3 nights) where you may still get the mud and rain, you would pay more than it costs for a truck to go into Truckfest - and often you don’t get some form of entertainment laid on either.
I have been several times in the past and the main reason we didn’t go this year is because we are working on a 1974 campervan for our grandson to take to Belvoir (we will also be there with our 1935 Austin).
Admittedly Truckfest is getting a little ‘tired’ with many of the same things each year, so come on, Live Promotions, buck your ideas up or you won’t have any exhibitors. Perhaps you could put trucks getting off the field on as entertainment this year!
From photos I have seen and reports I have read, those who are there are enjoying themselves immensely, in spite of the muck and mud.
They are having a good time with friends they may not have seen for a year or more, and making new ones.
I understand the recovery demos will take place on Monday evening!
