Trucker Fined for reversing up hard shoulder on M20

So some ■■■■ missed the slip road for J11a on the M20 and decided to reverse up the hard shoulder back to the junction.

At least the driver got caught and fined.

Its that sort of crazy manoeuvre that gives decent truck drivers a bad name.

And £1,000 is a proper fine.

Also paid before he could move on

Euro driver reverses down slip road…and gets caught doing it, fined on the spot.
The guys had to pay the price for his misdemeanor, done and dusted but ill never understand any fellow driver actually getting satisfaction seeing another driver being pulled for it. No one was hurt, no kittens squashed in the process…

I see he didn’t get named though. My guess would be Piotr, Stanislav, Pavel sort of thing.

Serves him right, what a bellend

Not a good attitude AndrewG. Nothing went wrong this time but the potential for disaster was high.
Its like drivers that think it is ok to speed or ok to travel too close because they usually get away with it but when something goes wrong they injure innocent people or worse.
Put the clowns off the road for good and I get great satisfaction when they get caught.I dont like dangerous drivers that put others at risk. :imp: :imp:

+1…id have to agree with that…no doubt a Taliban that kakked himself passing the slip…if it was abroad, then theres a bit more leeway for the flambouyant reversing,or turning, but obviously not in ott h&s England, hence the inevitable crucifixion…poor guy.

Er…i think youve got the wrong end of the stick, yes the guy was in the wrong and was fined for it, thats all fair enough, you break the law pay the price ect but i personally dont get any satisfaction seeing him pulled for it, it doesnt make me happy in other words but some seem to gloat and thats what i dont like…
Im the same with speeding (not past schools ect before i get jumped on) but out on the open road theres no harm done at 100kph as im of the opinion speed doesnt kill but anyone gets caught for it me included has to pay the price as the law stae otherwise but again i get no satisfaction seeing someone hauled over the coals for it…

DD sums it up well, the other parts of Europe it generally gets overlooked but in Hi Viz, boots, hard hat H&S obsessed England things get looked at in a more stern light and someone doing this gets lambasted for it… :unamused:

Shame they didn’t catch the flip flop wearing numpty who did the same thing on the m42 last week at jct 9 :open_mouth: :unamused: nutters

Why is it a shame exactly? Did he hurt anyone? Illegal it may be and if caught no doubt a big fine to pay and entirely his fault but nothing to get upset over because there was no BiB around surely
If UK only drivers saw the ‘alternative’ way of driving in Europe they wouldnt get so upset ref seeing the odd misdemeanor now and then.
I very often see UK reg trucks in Spain/France do odd things but i just ignore it and get on with the day…

The right thing for him to do was to carry on up the motorway for 6/7 miles and turn round Andy co e back down why oh why do a stupid risky thing like that …

Of course it was the ‘right’ thing to do as far is the law is concerned but my point being the’ 'flip flop wearing numpty’’ hasnt harmed anyone, why even bother to get upset over it…?

Regardless of the fact no one was hurt the driver did wrong by issuing a fine they’ll think twice about doing it again.

Yes youre right, but i never like to see gloating over a fellow driver being pulled for whatever theyve allegedly done, thats my point. This attitude only seems to be prevalent in H&S obsessed UK though, certainly in spain its something that would be brushed off by any other driver without a second thought…

By issuing such a large fine they are clearly stating that such a reckless act won’t be tolerated in this country. Allow one to get away with it and it won’t be long before everybody is doing it, cars, trucks, buses etc.
Are you saying that people should only get punished if they cause carnage? I for one fully agree with the high standards of driving rules and regs, it makes the roads a safer place for all of us.
