Respect to you for persevering in spite of some of the taunting! (which has got a little childish, tbh)
Somewhat cavalier of you though to state a percentage of “wrongdoing” within the force that cannot possibly be authoritative or verifiable.
Wrongdoing by its very nature is kept carefully hidden, and statistics can only be compiled on known and discovered offences. How much nefarious activity is continually occurring that goes undiscovered? Exactly - nobody knows. As you quite rightly say, there are bad apples in all professions, but Ive never heard any member on here attempt a guess regarding the percentage of rogue drivers within the industry.
No animosity intended, but you have to be soooo very careful what you spout on here - especially if it cannot be comprehensively supported. Maoster makes a very good point (as usual), and I too would prefer to see a more harmonious and constructive dialogue with you guys.

Good post.
I find it difficult to believe that more than 1500 officers per year are convicted of criminal offences. The Daily Mail would be all over it if it was that high!
I’ve taken the liberty of researching for a figure via google.
RoadsRat:
I’ve taken the liberty of researching for a figure via google. In the past 3 years, 179 crimes have been committed by police officers
No, what you mean is that 179 police officers have been convicted of a criminal offence. It’s not the same thing. What about the vast majority of criminal police officers, who weren’t caught?
Come on, I’ve posted links, photos, evidence, one police officer after the next, drink-driving, dangerous driving, growing cannabis, supplying heroin, what more do you want?
SteveBarnsleytrucker:
Have you read his replies back to everyone??
Or his user name? Or his location? Or his signature?
As pointed out by numerous others, “RoadsRat” is just a runt who was bullied at school, and now obtains job satisfaction from punishing others in revenge, now that he has finally achieved some type of power and respect, based not on his looks, intelligence, charisma or charm, but simply on the uniform he wears to work and the big blue lights on his car.
I still like engaging with him though. There’s nothing more pleasurable than a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent!
he’s not really a copper-i bet he’s a ■■■■■■■ PCSO…
the maoster:
Interesting! We get numerous “tame” traffic cops posting from time to time, so instead of using them as an invaluable tool for gaining info on relevant legislation or perhaps even giving them an insight into the daily problems we have to content with thus giving them a more balanced view, no, we abuse them and when they bite back we accuse them of being corrupt or unprofessional!
Way to go guys.
The bloke reckons he’s a police officer, Yet he makes assumptions based on hearsay without proof.
He assumes the guy was guilty of being stoned.
He also assumes that lorry drivers are uneducated.
His attitude suggests he is a wannabe copper.
A propper copper would be impartial, He would wait until there was some evidence before making any sort of assumption.
If you’re worried about my credentials, one of the resident HATO members can vouch for my authenticity. He’s seen me at work on a few occasions.

Sorry to disappoint you Harry, but I had much greater “power” and “respect” in my previous career, which incidentally, was based on intelligence.

not worried about your credentials at all, because you dont have any!!
does your traffic wardens hat have a yellow band round it?
m1cks:
Maybe if you can just clear up crossing a double solid line to enter a layby facing the wrong way then Muckaway will be sorted too.
The relevant legislation states:
(a) to enable the vehicle to enter, from the side of the road on which it is proceeding, land or premises adjacent to the length of road on which the line is placed, or another road joining that road;
Moreover, the Highway Code states:
You MUST NOT cross or straddle double white lines in normal driving. Exceptions are: if it is safe to do so and you need to enter premises adjoining the carriageway or a side road. In addition, it is permissible to cross the line as necessary and provided the road is clear, to pass a stationary vehicle. Or to overtake a horse, pedal cycle or road maintenance vehicle, only if they are not travelling at speeds greater than 16 km/h (10 mph). You can also cross double white lines when ordered to do so by a policeman in uniform.
I think this has run its course in the PDF now and turned into something else. I don’t want to lock it and spoil your fun so i’ve moved it into Bullys where you can carry on the discussion.

Yes, I really do not believe for a New York minute that he is a serving Traffic Police officer, he would not dream of making the posts he has if he was, media awareness and the need for discretion are part of Police training.
Possibly a PCSO, but far for likely somebody somebody who isn’t employed in any type of law enforcement job at all, possibly a security guard.

Why is it 179 police officers? Can’t a police officer be convicted of more than one offence?
You’ve posted a few news stories. Nothing you’ve posted indicates the number to be greater than 1500, so again, less than 1% of all officers.
Being the police expert that you are, you’ll know that it’s pretty difficult to get upto no good without being found out. Haven’t you heard of PSD?

One minute I’m a PCSO, the next I’m a Traffic Warden! Make up your mind.

Utter rubbish. There is a HATO member who can vouch for me, but that doesn’t suit your agenda, does it?
