smoking kills. and is illegal in a works vehicle but hey go ahead and kill yourself over a bit of nicotine. truck driving unfortunately is an unhealthy job and you guys that smoke are heading for an early grave, and possibly the sack if you are caught.

Grow up FFS

Enlighten me.

If you think we either need or want your guidance on lifestyle choices,it may be you that needs therapy!

i dont smoke but have seen many ■■■ ends bummberling along the motorway, and to be blunt so what, i think the chances of a ■■■ end causing an accident or motorway carnage is very slim, i agree that drivers should be more aware of other road users but for the love of christ get a life, could be worse could of been a cigar

Spare a thought for us pipe smokers.
The ashtrays in lorries are far too small, so its a tappity tap on the mirror arm before refilling with the ole St Bruno . . wheres my hat and cape ?

Gone up in smoke■■?

Heard it all before, countless times.
:unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Do you care if evil smokers like me are heading for an early grave? Does it make a blind bit of difference to you?

Regarding hay and straw, I have carried untold numbers of loads of both and have not had a fire yet.

Surely, with all the nonsense on the roads in the UK, and in the country in general, you could find something more worthwhile to drip about?

The Mont Blanc tunnel was, as far as I recall, caused by an italian vehicle catching fire, but the cause was never truly determined because there was nothing left… Don’t start that sort of nonsense, please… :unamused:

Just saw another thing about the Blanc fire. Do you have any idea how much draught there is on a 11 or 12 litre engine? If it did get sucked into the air filter there is no way on earth it would have ignited… It may have scorched the paper but it would have to get past the initial mesh and traps before it ever got there. Trying to justify a nonsense post by saying categorically that a cigarette caused all those deaths and all that destruction is, frankly, ridiculous.
That could have been by anything. I would suspect, since it is a real hard climb, that it could have been anything from a turbo failure to a fuel leak, to a flyer about anti smokers being casually thrown out by a rabid anti smoker who had read it already and was finished with it.

Having just googled it, it sounds as though it was a fuel leak. White smoke is generally diesel. There, now you have a clue.

If you can’t get a life on your own, I understand they sell them in Tesco, along with cigarettes!! :unamused: :unamused:

Rant over?!

Yeah, sorry, but it really boils my wee when this sort of thing appears, especially when they try to justify their nonsense by stating something so ridiculous.

not as many as those who die as a result of stress related demises. POSSIBLY long and uptight life or POSSIBLY not quite as long but relaxed? :sunglasses:

Have noticed an increase in truck(doh lorry) fires in recent years.
Nothing to do with dodgy home made wiring in of coffee makers ,lap tops, playstations.8 track stereos?

You may remember it was only recently that pipes were banned in fuel and oil refineries, almost all the old hands who drove fuel tankers smoked a pipe, many still do…

More fires in lorries caused by hot brakes and tyres than a ■■■ end

I’m picturing a Jason King look-alike in a jag on your days off, so you’d better watch those bits of baccy on your velvet jacket mate!

Where would you like us to put the ■■■ ends ■■

And then set my own truck on fire :open_mouth: no chance.

malcn:

That’s the whole underlying problem, just chuck anything out the window :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: , that is the reason why this country is so friggin dirty.
If you drive around here, Eastern Europe or a third world country is looking clean.
I’m always surprised if people come back from Germany or Holland and complement on the cleanliness of these countries, they are so clean…they are not, it’s normal that you don’t drop your crap everywhere and chuck anything out the window.

By the way if you get caught there, throwing stuff out your Car/Truck window, you worked a big part of the month for free. :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

Its many years since I was in Germany, but yes, I always remember returning with the impression of how clean everywhere was.

Also a lack of graffiti. I understand the parents are responsible for the cost of cleaning any done by their offspring. Should do the same here.
