TRUCK & DRIVER WAGES SURVEY! - Win £50 in Amazon vouchers

How can a trade magazine report on wages and working conditions if it doesn’t know how much people are being paid and what they’re having to do for their money? And how can it then go on to report whether things are improving or getting worse if it doesn’t know what they were like last year? The answer is obvious - it can’t.

We’ve decided the only solution is to start doing an annual survey, and this seems like the most obvious place to start the ball rolling. The survey can be completely anonymous if you wish, but if you leave an email address (which we promise NOT to use for any other purpose) we’ll enter you into a draw to win £50-work of Amazon vouchers after the survey has closed. :grimacing:

A test run makes us think it should only take 10 minutes to complete the survey, but allow a bit more in case the questions aren’t clear. If you do discover a dodgy one, please post and I’ll go back in and try and sort it - this is the first time I’ve done one of these so I’d be very surprised if I haven’t muffed the job up at some point along the line!

The survey will run until Sunday 8th May, and I’ll get our family dog to fish a draw winner out of a bowl of biscuits on Monday 9th May. :stuck_out_tongue: :open_mouth:

Thanks all! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

CLICKY HERE FOR THE SURVEY!!![/b][/size]

PS. You don’t need to be a TruckNet UK member to fill in the survey by the way, so feel free to spread the link about and tell all your friends/colleagues/those random blokes you meet in Tesco’s waiting cell etc. :stuck_out_tongue:

And yes, I know it spreads the page in IE. There doesn’t seem to be anything I can do about that, unfortunately. :frowning:
It’s ok in Firefox and Chrome. :sunglasses:

Blind poster.

I would imagine the magazine has a fairly good idea about truck drivers wages and that they vary quite a lot depending on the job and the hours worked.
I doubt you will get a more accurate view on here for obvious reasons but it may be amusing trying to find out!

That’s why I’ve broken down the survey to cover as many variations as I can think of without taking the thing too far, albion1971. And no, the Editor - who’s fairly new to the role, and has a mainly railway background - doesn’t feel he really knows the score, hence the survey. I can only personally tell him about Short Sea container trampers running out of Teesside, after all - and even that would be over a year out of date! :open_mouth:

Out of interest Lucy and before I start it…

Is this for PAYE drivers or Ltd/Self employed?
If it is then I assume its per charged amount?

Dont wish to skewer the results if its not.

Wouldn’t open on my Firefox, tried IE but the bloody ads popping up caused dummy to be spat out, so done it on Tor, so if someone from Outer bloody Mongolia has just submitted a survey that was probably me…

I’ve filled in the survey and it appears to have been accepted - but at no point did I see any option to identify myself for prize-winning purposes…

I filled it in as best I could and put self employed on some of the answers to cover my self
