Triple fatality on London's North Circular

Three young people have died after a high speed “race” on London’s North Circular this morning ended with their car crashing into a lorry and bursting into flames.

serves em right. No sympathy from me I’m afraid.

Yes, racing is wrong, BUT I really feel for the families this will affect, especially so close to Christmas.

We’ve all been young, and thought we were invincible. Everyone reading this is one of the lucky ones who got out alive. I really feel sorry for the families and those people who had to stand by and watch. 2 days before Christmas too :frowning:

I am guessing if the NoS story is to be believed, this COULD have been the reason why nothing could be done.

yes fair enough but how about if an innocent person/persons had also been killed through the antics of those racing??

I’m not sure a suitable consequence of racing another driver is to burn to death two days before Christmas, but to each their own…

My sympathy is with our colleague who had to be involved in this mess, wouldn’t want to be remembering that mess over Xmas or any other time.Just surprised Plod didn’t report
‘Lorry Driver Arrested’.

The lorry driver will have been cautioned at the least as it is treated as a crime scene until further investigations.

I feel for the guy.

Click on the Evening Standard link and look at the close-up picture of what’s left of the Subaru…

Me neither.

I’m sure SteveBarnsleytrucker would be spouting a different narrative if it was his own son, brother or nephew involved in this. :unamused:

Went pass it this morning about 4am , I have to say in all my 20 odd years driving lorries I’ve never seen such a mess, no one else to blame but themselves but that’s no way to leave this world
Thoughts are with the lorry driver for a fast recovery , and the familys involved dealing with there losses
RIP

It’s about time we had graduated licencing. I had a few near misses when I was young. I see this and dread the day my kids start knocking around in cars

Feel for the trucker who was involved in that awful accident,as for the three who burned to death well it’s natural selection IMO…
The world will not really struggle at their passing…

They died a bit like paul walker in real life.

Very graphic description from the media, and I don’t blame them. Hopefully it’ll make someone think in future and save someones’ life.
Looking at the state of the car, I doubt the occupants burnt to death.

The media said Walkers’ death was “trauma and thermal injuries.” Is that a namby pamby way of saying “burnt to death,” or the official pathologists’ findings?
Irritates me that the driver of the car Walker was in is described as a “racing driver” then claimed he crashed at 45mph. Some racing driver to crash at 45 driving in a straight line…

I know, meant his mate was not much of a racing driver. I’ve noticed everytime there’s a fatal car fire, reports say the deceased “died of multiple injuries”, never mentions burns etc. One accident in Swindon a couple of years ago originally mentioned how the driver suffered minor burns trying to rescue his passenger. Later on all reference to the car catching fire was removed, yet the scorched tree in the picture was a giveaway. I think it happened on the Marlborough Road.
