Transport to UK from Denmark

maskinplatsen.se/ads/used-wi … guageID=25
The link above is a machine to one similar i bought secondhand in Denmark, it is 7.5 metres wide folded down or about 3 metres high folded up x 2.7 wide. Any ideas on the cheapest way to get it to Wiltshire?

You have a PM.

MR141 (on this site, trucknet, is one of the office bods) send him a pm.

Ring “Stewart International” on 07721510965 ask for Mark and tell him “Big Truck” sent you and to give you a keen quote :exclamation: :exclamation:

He is an Agri Contractor running a FR9080 silage team here in Co.Down NI but runs a fleet of lowloaders on UK/Euro work and does a good job. :sunglasses:

try Richard Long BV / Transport, they carry all the Claas combines etc and stuff abroad for us, would highly recommend. 01953603291

I rang them a few months ago but they said they never travelled to Denmark much.
EDIT, rang him again and he says he has 2 lorrys going next week

there are a lot of people that know [zb] all.
why put you in touch with companies that do spain, and italy all the time, and expect them to be in Denmark.
we are doing a lot of Sweden, and usually reload out of Denmark, or germany.
it’s £2750.00. and it will have to slide into a fridge.

and it will have to slide into a fridge.

A quick read of the first post reveals there is not a cat in hell’s chance of it fitting in a fridge!

Bet the east europeans would get it into a fridge  not that you’d want it in a fridge
Alex, as its s/h you might want to warn folk about the ‘‘aroma’’ and seepage that sometimes accompanies this type of used equipment even when its clean :grimacing:

I bought it last March so the aroma should be history.

That would go into a fridge, no problem. By wide (I hink) he means ‘behind an John Deere tractor’ so in haulage terms I’d say “longest measurement” so lengthway’s it’d slip into a fridge without any worries. (look at the pic)

I do see what you mean, but wouldn’t fancy it myself. Slurry injectors tend to have non-castoring wheels to stop them wandering off-line and their structure is not especially strong in some points as they are not designed to withstand much in the way of lateral forces. I suppose it could be done if you had some suitable dollies and a decent loading ramp or lifting equipment, but I’d give it a miss personally.

Besides, fridge loads out of Denmark are not exactly in short supply, so personally I’d be more inclined to get something more appropriate in the back of the fridge and leave the faeces infested farm machinery to someone else. :stuck_out_tongue:

Me too, better in the back of some old tilt or euroliner, easier to secure as well.

Nowt to do with me but would have thought the likes of DFDS Logistics or DSV would have answered your prayers on this one. The recent reduction in rates to their hauliers would suggest that they’d be inexpensive to boot, but you never know!

I asked dsv, they said it wouldnt fit on their lorrys.

Do you think there’s a possibility you’re confusing people by describing its longest dimension as ‘width’? If it’s really 1.2-ish x 1.5-ish x 7.2 like it looks in the photos, then it doesn’t sound very difficult to load at all. I’m finding it hard to think of a truck likely to be running to and from Europe onto which it wouldn’t fit, though as someone who eats the occasional bacon sandwich, I’d like it not to come back in a fridge…
