Thats all me questions answered i think except one. do you enjoy tramping? i could potentially be away all week but will be home every weekend. the missus moved out in the summer and took the kids with her so im used to me own company for one. the only thing im not looking forward to is the cold nights. cheers for all your help people

i love it the job is easier as your not rushing around trying to get home every night another tip wich is what i do i cook four meals up at home freeze em then stick em in the fridge they defrost quite slowly and warm them up at night saves a small fortune in buying food from cafes etc good luck pal
A fridge is a must for most of the year but at the moment you can get away with putting food in a coolbag or something and putting it in the trailer or secure to back of cab maybe.
I enjoy tramping most of the time but it can get on top of you sometimes. My top tip is get out of the cab for a walk/meal/pint/dogging/whatever so you dont go “cabin crazy”

It’s a way of life and far better than 15 hour days home for 9 and back again.
To start you just need wash kit, clothes and sleeping gear the rest of it youll figure out as you go along.
