Definitely no excuses for leaving bedding articles, un- bin-linered and stashed away, that should be a given.

Day drivers are king at my gaff. Any gear left in a wagon gets put into a bin liner and emptied into the corner of the drivers room.If any agency drivers help themselves to items on company premises, thatās not down to us. Houses are for sleeping in, wagons are not.
With that attitude that sounds like somewhere to avoid like the plague

Itās just Beaver on a wind upā¦take no notice.
(On the other hand I was talking to him earlier,.and asked him on the off chance if he could maybe nick me a new kettle. )
theres a reason we dont use agency
theres also a reason no other person but myself has been in the truck I drive since February.
Glad to see we are getting it right in these strange and difficult times .
I sometimes get a trampers truck when having to do container work at our gaffe, which means potential lengthy tips. I avoid if I can, but if I find myself lumbered at some crap hole site for 4/5hrs iāll be damned if iām not getting on the bunk. I neatly roll up the bedding, stick it on the passenger seat and then put it back later.
Also this idea that the day men are always looking after some immaculately left unit is a bit of a myth in my experience. For as many spotless trampers trucks I have got in, I have got in some absolute hovels where you are greeted by a Lenor bottle next to the drivers seat, nail clippings in the centre console, stench of BO etc. Itās been good to get back into the battered day cab.
lol ,try moving stuff out the motor I drive ,micro, printer, clothes food water high boots wellies oceralls helmet x2 different colours. plus maps gps etc .wife had to clear out motor after my accident in yrd in march {tins would have blown in cold } ,motor was used for one wk since then.A real one driver one truck outfit{plenty o spares in yrd for part timers}. As said above you are a guest in another drivers home o treat it as such.,t.he no boots behind seat rule is strong over here in Canada.Drivers get very angry if someone messes up the inside o the cab as more than a few live in motor 50wks a yr.( sorry for spelling as still suffering from concusion ,blurry vision ps my motor I drive only used a wk as other sieves truck had 200gl tanks and mine had 399 g (so not fueling in usaā¦ā¦ā¦jimmy
thanks for your honesty mate r,e. spelling. hope its not long term, what happened.
traler swap in yrd friday13th march ,-14c blowing snow on ice , dropped one trailer ,hoocked up new one .winding up legs and down i went on head ,knocked out ,came too as getting dragged across yrd some time later by another driver who spotted my coay covered by snow . touch o frostbite in left hand ,glove cameoff so have post concusion with all that brings ,totally housebound apart from doctor /hospital visits, cant even see tv. Not good cause over 60,can live in hope though thanks for asking jimmy . my life changed un a secondā¦
In all the places I have worked, my cab has been left as I wanted it, I always had both bunks made up. I had a bag for clean clothes and one for dirty. I took every opportunity to get laundry done while I was away, sometimes the ferry companies did our laundry foc, they just didnāt realise it.
Iām surprised no one has mentioned the most hideous thing an agency driver can do in a trampers wagonā¦changing the preset stations on the radio

no one can change them on my radio as i use the dab side of it and they are all listed.most just change it over to fm then put what they want in but dont know how to program it.only thing i have to do is delete their phone fro mthe bluetooth settings if they figure it out.as for leaving gear in i leave mine in time bedding is taken home at weekends to be washed like my work gear and bags i bring with food in.but microwave and all other stuff is left in truck.only tiem it comes out is once a year when i take a month off for my hols.luckily they do not hand keys out for my motor to be used by night or weekend shifts.

Oh thereās ways and means to change DAB presets, our lot specialise in it! Quite why they canāt merely scroll to a station that suits their taste without programming it is beyond me. Doesnāt bother me too much though 'cos I absolutely adore remembering what 18 presets I had and then attempting to reprogram them all back in.

Lovely when youāre south and in the sticks, no internet, then as the sun sets āThe 6 o clock chimesā breaks through the staticā¦

I DIDNT THINK ANYONE WAS DRIVING IT ?

Iām currently tramping for a firm out of Immingham and have had the same allocated motor for 6 weeks. Nobody else has used it on a weekend so far. However, my bedding is stripped out every Friday and I take all my clothes home to be washed (as you would expect).
I donāt empty the overhead lockers which contain my camping stove, non perishable food, washing up bowl, cleaning products etc. If I go in Monday, and anything has been robbed, Iāll be annoyed and will try and identify who had access to the truck but ultimately Iāll take it on the chin as I seriously cannot be arsed emptying the Unit at 8pm on a Friday after being out all week⦠ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā to that.
Iām only temp and on occasion Iāve gone in to take over a truck and itās been full of a trampers personal kit, including bedding. If I had the unit for a day, I ā ā ā ā it up and respect the blokes living space. If Iām in it for a week, I empty as much as I can into the boot of my car to store in the yard whilst Iām down the road. On Friday, I put it all back where I think it was kept (obviously not exactly where I found it, Iām not rain man)!!
You donāt know why the gear has been left in the truck, driver could be off sick unexpected or a death in the family. Just be a decent bloke⦠itās not hard

Your company canāt afford them.
theres also a reason no other person but myself has been in the truck I drive since February.
Because nobody else is desperate enough to work for such a pittance.

I had not noticed that Beefy has revealed his/her wages? Maybe the company has had bad experience with temporary drivers? When did his/her company publish their accounts showing that they cannot afford temporary drivers?
You let yourself down at times mate. Sometimes your posts are worth a read, but lately your contributions are seemingly a tad childish and bitter, especially when it comes to being an agency driver. I was an agency driver and realised that I was simply a bod that was required or dropped at a companies whim. Didnāt bother me one bit though, thatās the game. Also whether you like it or not, a large percentage of agency drivers leave trucks a complete mess.
I have probably driven trucks for more haulage companies than nearly everyone else on here, and EVERY haulage company has complained about the state of the trucks after agency drivers. The truth will set you freeā¦
