I got offered a single shift on agency for a logistics company. They gave me truck which clearly is being used by someone for tramping as they left ALL of their non food stuff here like sheets, pillow, bunch of utensils which nearly fell down on my face when I opened the top compartment looking for the number plate.
Now I’ve been sat on a bay for an hour with at least 2 more hours to go but nowhere to lay down and stretch my back  Public plea to trampers, take your stuff home for the weekend, at least free up the bed. Thank you
My instruction are and I would do anyway is to completely empty the lorry & that’s what I do , if you don’t it won’t be there when you come in on a Monday , it’s a pain emptying everything , and I mean everything on a Friday & putting it all back in on a Monday , the worst aspect is when you completely empty it on a Friday then find out on a Monday it hasn’t been out at the W/end .
It’s also a pain emptying the car out on a fri/ sat when you get home then have to put it all back in on a Sunday evening .
Another sad day man/limper who don’t realise how much stuff a tramper has and that it’s not feasible to empty cab each weekend
As for looking in interior lockers for number plate (what ever you could nick) [emoji49]

Empty the cab? Maybe not, but to leave very surface occupied?

Looking in an overhead locker for a number plate? Seriously? Perhaps just having a nosey I reckon.
An overhead locker wouldn’t be the first place I would look, but if the plate wasn’t elsewhere I would check there, before phoning the office, and dropping someone in the cart for loosing it.
NOSEY no other word for it, looking for a number plate ■■? a load of old tosh never in 50 years of being on the road did I ever find a number plate in the over head locker.Side locker or behind a seat but NEVER in an overhead locker. As others have said roll the bedding up out of the way, and make sure you take your boots off, nothing worse than having somebodies boot marks on the bunk. Repeat myself NOSEY

Yeah I get the other stuff I didn’t mean that, but the bedding…don’t you need to take it home to wash it every once in a while anyway?? I found a very nice fork btw, I now keep it inside the net in my car’s passenger side footwell - who knows I might need it one day. I really wanted the snooper sat nav (heavy duty edition) but it was bolted down ((

It was literally the LAST place I looked in as I had already checked everywhere else, lol. You’ll never guess where I found it in the end.
I take my stuff home to wash regularly, but I’d be ■■■■ ed if I’m emptying my cab for a single shift.
On a positive note nice to see you are considerate enough not to lie on the guy’s bed, but could you not take a cover with you to put over it so you can have a kip?
As for looking in an overhead locker? …oooh big no no that mate, that’s where personal effects are kept, not usually number plates…maybe door pocket, side locker, behind seat, or even on back of unit.

At the front, between the dashboard and the windscreen It was a Scania, the dash sort of ‘‘dips’’ towards the front so you can’t see it from the seat. I hadn’t been in a Scanie since forever and never managed to find the button for the work light at the back of the tractor either…

I done that a while back. Hunted high and low for the trailer plate. Even checked all the empty trailers parked up in the yard, but gave up and went round to the workshop to get a new one made. Drove out of the yard and the reflection from the street lights shone an image of a number plate on the windscreen. [emoji2960] At least I’ve got a spare in the side locker now.

I call disagreeing for disagreeings sake.
You and I both know that you have more chance of finding Madeline McCann in a top locker that a number plate.
Why? I take a rucksack with my washing and the fridge home, literally everything else stays in place. Then again our place doesn’t use agency and the only reason it’ll move when I’m not there is if the boss needs to grab something at the weekend. So much better then clearing the cab every week!!
As a dinner time starter,I get one of the early starters trucks.
They have an allocated vehicle,so are usually kitted out for nights out…although there’s no tramping.
Not really a problem for me,as I’ve had my fill of sleep,so won’t be needing the bed.

We have Agency at our place, we have allocated Trucks, the Agency drivers are told " you are a guest in someone’s house," treat it as such, you don’t need to use the bed, and there’s nothing to concern you in the cupboards,. So drive it from A–2—B and return it to A, fill it up, go home.

You better enjoy your pillow smelling like ■■■ then. Because if I’m not allowed to sleep on my break I’m going for the next best thing which is ■■■■■■■■■■■ - an improvised mini-■■■■■■■ over a pretentious ‘‘Mah truck, mah bed!!!’’-type’o’guy’s pillow seems like the logical and righteous thing to do. Nevermind the smell us agency drivers have to endure sometimes courtesy of some of the more uhm…hygienically challenged cab dwellers.
