spd0121:
To be honest, Yesterday, I had a bit of a cold/stuffy head (Man Flu; see the following: spd0121’s LINK and generally felt a bit blaaah.
As your link seems to be a dead one I thought you might mean this - MAN-FLU
The link was only dead after somebody, who shall remain nameless, killed it.
I’ve fixed it in the quote above, but then it turns out that it’s the same as yours anyway.
Just catching up with the rest of the comments and totally agree with all the comments made.
I struggled with the reverse doing class 1 and failed a couple of times before leaving the flippin’ test area,''I was determined not to throw it all in the bin and got there in the end, you’ll feel absolutely great when you pass, keep at it and nail it on Friday.
spd0121,you got as near to passing as possible, dont throw it all away now ,you are so nearly there, all the best on Friday .
The famous words “I’m pleased to tell you” !!!.
Good luck.
regards derek
Norwich traffic… the most crazy, insane drivers this side of Brussels… it was a car driver in Norwich (at the fievways) who failed me my first test. You know the kind of thing, look once, look twice, look another time to be sure, pull out, “Holy ****! Where did that bleeeeep! come from?”. That kinda fail…
Best of luck with your retest.
Allikat: I know exactly what you mean about the ‘fiveways’! Seems to be on every test route, so presumably they know about it too! LOL Maybe a case of, “Hmmmm…let’s see how he/she handles this!” LOL
Only problem I have is that I could not get time off work tonight. Off to work at 00:30 finish at 6:00 (they did allow me to only do my little trunk runs and not have to do my morning delivery run). Drive from Kings Lynn to Norwich to meet Roger for 8:00. Ride with him and another victim for said victim’s test. After the test, Roger and I will drive for an hour or so, quick reversing exercise for refreshment then report to the Test Centre for a 14:30 test!
Methinks I will be one tired puppy by the time I get home tomorrow at about 18:00.
Hopefully I wil be full of adrenaline and pumped up from hearing the magic words!
If not, maybe a case of; a piece of hosepipe on the exhaust…
LOL
Anyway guys; Thanks for all the good wishes. Will report back tomorrow evening. Mind you, If I pass, those of you in the Norfolk area will probably hear me shout…

I would not be happy about a trainee of mine doing this and If at any point I thought they were too tired, I would ‘pull-the-plug’ on them
My advice - do your 0030 to 0600 then go home to sleep - meet truck later at test centre by going in your car.
I know what you mean, and have been giving this some serious thought. The biggest problem I can foresee is that i have not driven the truck since the test, due to Roger being busy with other candidates and my work commitments.
I feel that i need an hour or so driving to re-familiarise myself. Mind you, all week I have been driving my little 7.5 tonner as though I have been on a test the whole time! LOL I tell you what, I would not want me as an examiner!! What a hard nosed b*****d!! LOL
Based upon your experience, do you reckon I would be OK without a ‘refresher’?
My ‘normal day’, means that I get about 6 - 7 hours sleep. i have never been one of those people that needs loads of kip and have lived for 40 odd years on 6 or so hours per night. So; not unduly worried about the 18 hour day, as I said, this is normal or me.
His test is 09:15. During it, Rog and I will be going for coffee and a ■■■ or two whilst he is ‘sweating’!
Thought about doing the 'sick thing as suggested, but the only problem is, they all know that I am doing my test tomorrow; so don’t think it would wash! LOL
