Reefers are used for anything and everything
How long to come down to temperature? A few variables at play here tbf. Outside (ambient) temperature, direct sunlight onto the fridge, how good the engine is, how good the seals are etc.
To give you a rough idea I tipped an ambient load first thing this morning and am currently reloading a frozen load at a customer who wants fridges pre cooled to at least minus 18 before they’ll load it. I pulled off the ambient bay and fired the fridge up, it was reading +13 and it took about 55 minutes to come down to -18. An empty fridge takes a lot longer to come down to temperature than one that has frozen product on it.

This seems to be leading to a higher scandal involving actual EU based port authorities…It takes military precision to get 39 people onto a trailer in a narrow window in between a trailer being sealed in the prescence of a driver and harbour official AND coupling upto that trailer, driving it onto a ferry, all the way to blightly - only to realize when popping the seal in the prescence of another official.
We’ve also heard from drivers talking in the media about “taking hinges and entire fridge trailer doors off” to keep an already-sealed consignment apparently intact, bundle in the people, then screw the door back on, "No one saw, no one heard?
You really don’t have a clue, do you?

“Certainly never had the need to pull into a secluded street off Hessle road to go looking for it in the back doors”.Can readers suggest any other reasons for pulling into a secluded street off Hessle Road, Hull?
Division Road perhaps

Average asian adult under 60 kilos. So under 2 n half ton.
All I remember about Purfleet was that there was nowhere to park and you had to be there early to get on Circus Tavern. The lorry park in Grays was chopped in half

Foook there’s some push being written on here by armchair drivers who have never done this job,. Or even driving anything bigger than a fat scooter to collect their dla,…
Another drive from n ire caught on Saturday with illegals and cash to add, and another n ire driver to have his day in court very soon regarding illegals, I hope people see the picture building up here, the sooner these scum are out the better.

Untill you’ve been in the situation, and have some knowledge, shut up, and go back to revising for you A levels.

Having crossed paths with the driver in question I might know a little more than you may think

With the NCA involved, and politicians having a bit of a shout, and the Chinese government wanting answers this is getting very messy,…
Thoughts are with the driver and his family,…

just the usual media format to milk everything to death and make 5 mins news spread out to fill in two hours, then repeat when another snippet comes in.
the normal script applies now with no mention of the criminality of the illegals who shouldnt have been there in the first place.
i dont think any lorry driver finding one or 10 in the back before bringing them in would have any thought other than kicking them out.
ive had to do it several times on my own,and once when in calais with the security who wouldnt help other than help them to the gate after i closed the door on them a couple of times and switched the fridge on for 10 mins.
i wouldnt be going in to kick them out as its not uncommon for them to be tooled up.
never seen any from the."chinese persuasion " though.
i hope its eventually good news for the driver though everything connected to him just screams the same as his hat.
Having retired ‘happily’ from this wonderful world of ours I admit this weeks incident has been of interest. And yes I was a fridge trailer international operator and
became pretty sick fed up of the illegals and what they got up to.Now fridge work has gone on way before illegals turned up and modern fridge trailers have become
extremely air tight. So the question I raise and have pondered this week is…where did all the bodies last week indeed in the past get dumped and where will all
the bodies next week get dumped.Fridge trailers didn’t start getting cold this week, asphyxiation within a fridge trailer didn’t just start this week.Europe doesn’t
want illegals, never have and if they can send them onto the UK problem solved and who is involved, might be easier to ask who isn’t. Good luck to all of you.

^^^^ This.
I’ve loaded carpet rolls many times with a Fridge trailer.
Obviously you wouldn’t turn the fridge motor on.
I do wonder why Mr Robinson was arrested on a mass murder charge instead of just being detained for questioning in regard to.
Essex plod are going to look pretty silly saying “Gee shucks Mo, we had you all wrong there, Bud - here’s a ticket back to Tangland”
Anyway they have arrested two more in connection, apparently.
He came over on the 2030Stena Dublin/HH Sun night with a diff trailer FACT.
He is 25yrs old and a Merc C63 AMG/Audi Q7 were parked in his driveway recently about £120k new give or take??
Been told who owns the ex Dutch Scania but unconfirmed.
The trailer pics from rear on Sun website in situ@ Greys Wed morn looks empty to me but black forensics tent hiding bodies on floor.
Nobody of sound mind would climb into trailer set@ -25 knowing going on boat journey clandestine.
On my personal FB I don’t have a “support Mo” and think a lot of others similar have since been deleted!!!
Have just read he is due in court tomorrow Chelmsford,
Don’t think it will be pretty!!!
