nice pixs guys any of u on the latest u2 tour if so any chance of some pixs of he stage been put up or some of the gig.how do u guys live when ur stuck in one place for a few days do u get put up in hotels,what about ur laundry it u use the local laundrettes when u get some where.
dont think pics of the stage being taken down or put up can be posted tbh,
the tour drivers sleep in their trucks, the double drivers (eg me) get hotel rooms
but tbh its not always a good thing staying in a hotel room now, im starting to not be able to get any sleep which is not a good thing.

This was the bus that picked us up from the airport in Tbilisi, Georgia
Possibly the most important people at a gig are the local crew. The promotor hire these at each venue to assist with unloading, setting up and the reverse at the end of the gig. Generally these are hair arsed man with low hygiene levels, mostly grunt and do the heavy work. Then it was a loverly surprise to arrive at Lund in Sweden and have something more easy on the eye to help…
The photo was set up, they could do the work with no problem

hello mate i dont think it does, i cant imagine it can take a huge amount of weight as it also has a tail lift (was chatting to snow patrols driver who is on this with us about trucks) he must have been going into or come out of neg earth lights if he was in park royal i guess
and this one, kaiser chiefs truck supporting u2 in dublin, they only had a rigid in paris though…

I’ve seen a load of combinations of Transam and Pieter Smit units/trailers on UK roads recently, and from what Mat has said there seems to be some kind of capacity related reason for this (i.e Transam waiting for new units/trailers?). So, are Transam just one of many firms on a certain tour, or do they hire in other firms vehicles such as Smits as subcontractors or simply lease vehicles from them? I’d have thought that there must be one ‘main’ contractor on these big tours.
My other question is why such a big firm as Transam is so low profile - no website, etc, compared to people like EST who make a big song & dance about themselves.

those combos are probably on walking with dinosaurs, basically youve got it right with the way things are, transam win the contract and then if they dont have enough trucks to cover it out they sub contract somebody like smit or whoever in to help out.
also that last bit youll probably never get an answer to it.
i heard that there had been problems with the u2 guys getting delayed in ireland that locals got pssed of with al the noise.so they stopped u guys from leaving for sweden.heard it was going to bo touch and go wether u made to sweden in time for friday nights show.any of u guys get held up or did u make it with time to spare

they made it just, one guy on here who shall remain nameless on it was one of the last to arrive and he woulda got there today, but yea we all knew the problems would start in dublin.
