One thing thats puzzling me is are the Doncaster lads still entitled to the full redundancy package that they would be entitled to under employment to Tesco’s?
What are their demands?

A doughtnut and a packet of jammy dodgers

There are a lot out there who would do anything to get a full time job. People made redundant and still struggling to find a job that pays enough to feed there families, pay there bills and maybe get a family holiday.
These strikes promote nothing more than arrogance. You were offered jobs, yes your T+C’s will be different, but it’s a job, and with bonuses its not bad, I have seen a lot worse. Maybe you should take a look and realise you’ve had it good for a long time. It’s time to wake up and smell the coffee. This is how it is in the real world.
Haribo4000, I’m sure I worked with you somewhere many moons ago.
Some colleagues doing a similar job to us at the firm where we worked for were on a little better rate than us, so I said “We should be paid the same as them”.
You said “it’s not fair, they should be paid the same as me”
The boss listened to you and the other guys did get the same as you… they got a pay cut.
I left for another job, you carried on working there and moaning about the low wages.
There’s a lot of people like you out there, so maybe it wasn’t you.
Work Shy:
Had contact last night from an agency i’ve not driven for in eighteen months, during the conversion about them being short of drivers for their contracts, they mentioned the Big Green Mean Machine.I wonder why they require drivers in Manchester urgently? (a quick trip over woodhead to collect a load from…)
Doesn’t have to be ESL does it?

^^^ +1
Nail…Head…Hit. Pure gold.
Naa, cant have been me, I dont moan about wages.
As long as the bills are being paid I’m happy.
I will do anything to put a roof over head and food in front of my kids, So rather than whine about wages I just get my head down and earn what I can, whilst I can.
I don’t moan about anything as long as the bills are paid, and there’s something left over for me.
Not a chance of that in my house lol
TUPE rules…sound good but are really not worth the paper they are written on…
tesco would not have offered a redundancy package?..they are transferring all staff under TUPE…so the redundancy will be up to stobart not tesco.
stobart has to make all tesco staff redundant or it has to pay them their tesco t and c,s…which it obviously wont do or the whole excersise would be pointless.
once all staff have been made redundant on stobarts terms then they may offer jobs under stobart terms.
i was tuped in june by dhl…well offered my old dhl job by the new company for £11008pa less or bye bye.
i now work for mr stobart and am earning more pa than i was for dhl…more hours of course…but in the 4 months ive worked for mr stobart i have not yet had to go into my overdraft with the bank…something that happened EVERY month with dhl.
change is never welcome…i thought i might retire with dhl…but alas no…what the future holds for any of us is uncertain…in all my years i can say ive NEVER gained anything overall by striking…at best you my break even?but rarely.
draw a line…and move on

I’ve been on strike and I’ve gained protection of earnings and conditions for the foreseeable future.
If I didn’t strike all of that would of been lost
We, as a group of drivers, stood up for ourselves, Imagine what could be done if you all stuck together to protect and actually IMPROVE your pay and conditions
Then maybe you wouldn’t be selling yourselves for 50p above minimum wage for 60 hours a week, not including poa
What’s the thoughts on unite turning down the offer of an extra 28% on redundancy pay?
@Haribo4000
A link would be helpful mate.
Oh! BTW what’s Stobarts thoughts on making drivers redundant for Christmas?
m.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sout … e-20142580
There ya go pal.
I couldn’t answer that question as I don’t make the decisions, I’m just a driver that works for them.

Sounds like haribo4000 has signed the stobarts ‘‘social media policy’’

What’s “Social Media Policy”?
Is that one of those things were you give up the right to free speech, as if you’ve joined a communist state?

Basically says you mustn’t say anything naughty about the company or reveal any privileged information. I seem to recall some members on here have gotten into trouble for posting diaries with pictures when a customer complained.
Don’t think I signed one of those. Lol.
