Thank you all! Well, most! Thank you for watching and commenting.
You should definitely bother, even if you only help one person then it’s got to be worth it surely. Good luck.

My feelings exactly. And I got the idea and I continue because I get loads of messages from people thanking me for the help they got from what I produce. Which, when you’re like me- someone who often gets really down on himself, it helps a lot to make me feel like I’ve done something worthwhile

I think you (Switch) summed it up when you said “… the keyboard warriors who have slated you online, have been on the same ferry or train and you and said nothing”…spineless
Stay well n safe everyone
Also thinking about this. Had it in various places, truck shows, waiting rooms in RDCs etc, and the most they’ll ever do is try and avoid talking to me. You’d be amazed how many do just engage in polite conversation though, often not realising I know that they slam me constantly online! My belief has always been if you’re not prepared to say it in person or put your real name and face to it then don’t say it, and if you do I’ll not take it seriously. But it does annoy me as I’m 43, been a driver near 25 years, been around the industry My whole life, grew up gay within it (in the unenlightened 80’s) and been out for 98% of it, outspoken for 70+ % of it, online heavily for over a decade so no one can say anything to me that’s not been said dozens of times before. But these negative types who seem intent to drag everyone down can have a big impact on young/new drivers, so I try to counter that, that’s all.
Am I an attention seeker as first comment claimed? I’ve been a YouTuber overa decade, Of course I f***ing am! I’ll let you into a secret- if attention seekers stopped seeking attention tomorrow your tv, your radio, your cinema would go very quiet. Wanting to provide people with entertainment and enjoyment really isn’t a bad thing now is it.
I’m realist, I totally get why some don’t like me, I probably wouldn’t like me! I think I’m a bit of an annoying tw at! But if you don’t like me- just ignore me, don’t fill your life with hating someone, it’s a depressing and ultimately destructive way to live
Thank you for reading. Tune in tomorrow for tomorrow’s ridiculous rant
Here’s an idea for one of your ‘modules’ to run past you Luke.
What about teaching young and new drivers to attempt to get back to basics, to the days where we all helped and empathised with each other.
(Just go with me on this for a moment before you start rolling your eyes. )
I ain’t talking about all this romantic ‘Knights of the road’ old ■■■■■■■■, that’s just a myth that never happened, (well not in my time in the job anyway) I’m talking about teaching them to show a bit of common courtesy to other truck drivers, things that were just the ‘done thing’ and were taken for granted a few years ago by us drivers, before the 'car drivers with Class 1s infested the job.
Stuff like letting drivers in and out at junctions, not speeding up and leaving you hanging in the middle lane like a spare wotsit, (after you are only there in the first place to let that truck out, ) …or my personal pet hate that turns me into some kind of ■■■■■■ …when some arse hole shaves your grille when he pulls back in too early.
Pulling off the pumps (leave it ) after filling up to let the next guy on, not revving the ■■■■■■■■ off your engine, or leaving it on tick over when somebody next to you has is curtains drawn on daily rest.
Just little things that we all used to do once, that made the job a little easier in those days…thankfully a lot of drivers still do all this stuff tbf, but it needs to continue to the next generation of drivers imo.
So what do you reckon?
Am I just pining for the better days, and it’ll never come back, or do you think it’s what the newbies need, a bit of a courtesy lesson,… conducted by somebody with a bit of intelligence,.charm charisma and wit, to educate them.
(Sadly I ain’t got the time to do that so they’ll have to make do with you. )
Now that’s an absolutely fantastic idea, surprised I hadn’t thought of that! We all lament how courtesy and driving standards drop but obviously new drivers often don’t know about many of the things you mention. So that’s one shooting to top of list now. If anyone else has suggestions of what to put in this driving behaviour video let me know.

Tell 'em…
There is no need whatsoever to stow the leg winding handle away when dropping the trailer.
Just leave the ■■■■ thing dangling.

I’m New to hgv driving , passed my class 2 in October , only been employed since November . I was incredibly nervous about my first day having zero experience and searched through YouTube looking for stuff that you don’t get taught when doing lessons. Stuff like how to open/close curtainsider , working a tail lift , strapping down loads ,reversing tips and techniques, what certain switches in cab do , how to properly work a tacho I’m not talking about how long to take breaks etc I’m talking how to scroll through diff menus and see different data . MAybe something worth thinking about doing in future videos as experienced drivers it’s second nature and they do all this stuff without even thinking about it as they’ve been doing it for years but for us new guys coming into the industry it can be daunting .

Heres three i see on a daily basis that alot of drivers need advice on
how to use roundabouts
how to use a slip road
how to drop a trailer without lifting the suspension fully up and winding the legs fully down (also translate to Romanian as their the worst offenders)
and a couple for you too:
use a better camera
set it at eye level
sort out your lighting out
good luck
Please do Luke . I’ve been driving for 23 years now and your videos on You Tube are still some of the best out there and I did learn things from them . I’m sure plenty of new drivers to the industry could learn an few things just from your older videos and from new content as well .

I do find it funny how many people seem to want to see my face in HD
Just to point out again as a few mention quality. My videos are filmed, made and uploaded on my phone. Many years ago I asked followers wether they’d prefer fewer videos uploaded but those that were were HD quality or more videos of lower quality, they chose the latter. At time it was mostly because of mobile data limits but now it’s because they take up too much space as HD. I can see why it might be an issue on trip videos with lots of scenery but when it’s just me talking? I don’t want to see myself in HD so no idea why anyone else would

Didnt really touch on the realities of driving a truck. e.g. much office guys come from 8 hours a day in a office to driving a truck. Having to do 12 hours a day reguarly. Or coming back from a shift after 11-12 hours and being told you have another 2-3 hour run.I think this is the singlest biggest shock for new drivers. With many driving jobs you never know when you will finish.
That’s my experience anyway. Lot of warehouse to wheels guys often jack it in when they realise they cant hack the hours.
Yep, i’ll absolutely second this.
I notice that there seems to be a shortage of new drivers coming through interested in tramping, most just seem to want days. I’ve seen plenty of younger drivers almost instantly get struck by the reality of the hours involved and you just know they won’t last. Doesn’t help as well when the new lads get messed around something rotten by agencies & crappy operators who abuse their naivety and desperation for experience.

I think that is because they listen too much to the distorted and misguided perceptions and views on tramping, that many day men (especially on here ) prattle on about,
, which is a bit rich when their only experience of ‘‘tramping’’, (or what they think is tramping) consists of an unplanned night out in a strange motor in the sleeping bag they have packed for emergencies, with no provisions,.and sat waiting for their 9 hours rest to be up.
All the crap spouted about 'sleeping in a tin box/wet wipes/unpaid security guard stuff cracks me up.
Tramping can be a good life if you do it properly.
Another aspect is, guys who do start tramping actually do the job like that, as they think it’s normal.
Once over a trampers job was a young lads dream, running UK and abroad as a free agent, with their own allocated truck with all facilities, and with all the social life that it brought whilst away, but the trend nowadays is ■■■■ lay bys and minimum rest, whilst succumbing to pressure off the phone, like as I keep saying…an endurance test ,
So really is it any wonder that lads are put off by it?

I’ll credit you in that one!
I agree with the comments regarding ‘courtesy’ and how to behave, perhaps I am naive enough to think that most people are just ignorant because nobody has actually told them what to do in a situation.
I think if you assume that some of the videos are also viewed by car drivers now’s your chance to explain why lorries can’t do 70mph to get past them when they are clogging up the middle lane. I do a local radio show when they are short of people to interrogate/interview and always seem to get the same questions over and over regarding elephant racing etc
Oh yes I know for a fact many car drivers and those outside the industry watch. Lots follow me on twitter. You’ve given me an idea too, addressing some of the common misconceptions those outside the industry hold
