One of Bubblemans;

The first 8wheeler to have the “new” current livery from new. Andrew Hewitt had this new and Im sure he took it to Bloxham rally where this pic could’ve been taken. Had a ■■■■■■■ 325 that used to put out loads of blue smoke but passed mots strangely…

Probably no good for Truckfest, but show-winner for my standards :laughing:

Can’t beat a bit of wood effect trim, now all I need is wooden door winders and some wooden doors for the overhead compartments, some frilly curtains to stop people from seeing me as they overtake and I think some bullfighter arrows in the window…

The bottom of the steering column and the floor mat is a bit(zb) Nathan!! have to mark you down for that mate! Anyway I thought tipper drivers never left their cabs nowadays? Did you stick all that veneer (zb) round the dash or is that factory fitted? How’s the “little fella” doing,putting weight on I’d guess!! Cheers Dennis.

While I’m driving one with a kite badge Dennis I have to leave the cab to open the tailgate! The steering column and pedals are a ■■■■■ to get the dirt off bad design your feet rub the column and the mud just sticks solid in the pedal treads. I had to change my kit into the spare 6w and refuel before the yard got blocked up with drivers parking up for the weekend/queuing for the wash and diesel pump. Mini Muckaway’s 9weeks old today and pushing 12lbs.

Breaktime at Heyford Spinney on the Kirtlington-Upper Heyford Road.

Can anyone spot the donkeyness?

Muckaway:
V771 GBY. The only 4000 series left, although it’s been mothballed since 2009 with the aim of restoring it.

Someone’s been “borrowing” parts off it…

Is that the original steering wheel in there?The leather on my 06 Alpha was wearing through and the insulation tape too. Bought her a fancy wheel with chrome spokes for xmas. Guess you dont have the bends down there Nathan

Yes it is mate, although I’ve glued it around the 1 o’clock position, it’s coming away again…

Hi Nathan,do you remember these sisters. :smiley:

Cheers Bubbs, :wink:

Yes Marc, they’re still around, Y571 is now the spare 8wheeler while Y572 is in regular use by a driver who was originally laid off when the recession hit, and was recently taken back on. I drove Y572 about 2 years ago when mine was in for mot for a week. I liked it so much I asked to keep it but was refused on operational grounds (with me on a 6w, Gill Mill has a balance of 3x6ws 2x8ws and Dads’ artic and during the recession they didn’t need another 8 at Gill Mill. I like the big Daf wheel with the fold down centre for writing tachos on! It’s funny how the small things get appreciated more than expensive options :wink:
(They’ve got Cat 400s-Y571 is a bit slow now and both are reported to be on borrowed time if new wagons come this year)

Here’s a clue;

How come people can afford expensive driveways and landscaping, yet they can’t afford a saw to prune their trees?
:blush: :blush: :blush: :blush:

I was driving this one today, running shingle to Breheny’s at Bicester.

This drives lovely now as it’s just had a service and new cab mounts/shock absorbers. She’s a little thirsty compared to mine it was doing 7.5, I’ve managed to get it to 8.6 but I had to do all the other NVQ bumf to achieve it :grimacing: )

Not a Smiths’ lorry, but it’s Cat powered

This’ll upset the cab happy chappies :laughing:

:imp: :imp: hey I would hang you for that :laughing:

JAKEY:
:evil: :imp: hey I would hang you for that :laughing:

I did put a rag underneath my feet! New lorries ordered so I’ve heard. Two MAN 8wheelers and an artic not sure of make though. They’ve put a few quid towards Kardos this week; Dad towed in with broken halfshaft on Monday and their last 6wheel Foden towed into Gill Mill yesterday to tip an undelivered load back off.

Hi Nathan,another of the fleet passing Leigh Delamere M4 a few years ago. :smiley:

Cheers Bubbs, :wink:

Don’t give us that “old pony” Nathan I bet you were parked up doing a bit of “dogging”!!! Looks a likely spot!! Cheers Dennis.

Boots a size 9, and I when I collected them, workshop manager said I should’ve asked for “a decent pair of ■■■■■■ glasses judging from the exhaust pipe!” :laughing: :blush:
