Top mud gaurd

ajt:
Guessing seen as the majority of the european’s are driving in this country with no top guards on the tractor this comes under the ‘‘Under construction and use regulations act’’, allowed due to lower 5th wheel height ?

Absolutley, I wouldn’t bother arguing with plod he’d slap bracelets onto you and you’d be sent down under for 30 years.

I’ve always been told it depends on the distance between the tyre and the trailer. When I’ve been on low rides I’ve never had a problem running without tops on. Maybe its just a case of if Mr VOSA has a common sense approach or not.

bald bloke:
If your wheel or wheel guard is within 4 ins of the trailer I think then you can remove top of guard, I think

I still think this ^ .
