When setting up your vehicle profile is the height & length in metres or feet and inches been on preferences and and it doesn’t tell you cheers
I have a TT 750 Go Live but the menu structure is usually the same so on the main menu screen, select ‘Change Preferences’, select the right arrow until you get to ‘Set Units’, where you can specify metric or imperial measurements. Whatever you have chosen will be the units it uses.
It doesn’t have that option on there
ok i drive a normal single deck artic about 14 foot 2 high
being a bit thick can anyone tell me what figures for the truck that i have to enter on tomtom truck 7000
what is the vehicle weight
vehicle weight per axle
vehicle length
i know the height 14 foot 2
i think the width is 8 foot 2.5 inches so i entered 8 foot 3
and maximum speed 55 mph

have a look on the plaiting certificate that’s the one with the vehicle WEIGHTS on it that has VOSA on it
I put 55’ length and 11.5 tone axle weight 44 tonne weight.
Its not what your weight is, it’s your MGW so it does not send you through an 18t weight limit
Well the point of it asking is that it whatever you put it in for total weight if will obviously pick routes where that is allowed.
If you are happy arguing that you aren’t fully loaded when caught in a weight limit in the middle somewhere, then put in a rough guess. otherwise put in the max, 38t isn’t it? (I only have class 2)
You can change it later fairly easily if you swap trailers or vehicles.
I find axle limits very confusing for trailers and that is having tried to read and understand transportsfriend.org/road/axles.html
On my Tom Tom I just stick in 18t (for a 2 axle rigid) and 10t for the axle limit, but I might be doing it wrong!
Glad to be corrected myself!

Oh dear Villa. The pot calling the kettle black!
It is “plating” not “plateing”

Touchy! You really should know where it is, since it is one of the things you should be looking for on your pre-use checks. Fail to display a plating certificate is an offence for which both the driver and operator could be prosecuted. In reality, the operator would carry the can but the driver would be the one kept hanging around at the VOSA checkpoint (possibly for hours) while they do the necessary checking. It would also impact on the operator’s OCRS score, increasing the chances of being stopped in the future.
Oh - and it’s “plating”, not “plateing” FWIW
If you dont know your vehicle height and mgw you shudnt really be driving it

He knew the height.
I’m pretty sure he knows the MGW, I think he was confused about whether to put in the MGW or the load weight.
I can’t believe anyone would be driving class 1 without knowing the MGW of an artic, I think he was just confused about the software and how it works.

dont believe everything mate
mgw which stands for maximum gross weight obviously varies doesnt it
depending on if your unit is twin or tri axle
and your trailer being twin or tri axle
anyway thanks for pointing out i knew the height

trailer could be a single . even then it depends on the load rating of the tyre
