When setting up your vehicle profile is the height & length in metres or feet and inches been on preferences and and it doesn’t tell you cheersTap the screen and select CHANGE PREFERENCES
go to screen 5 and select SET UNITS
for trailer height in feet and inches, select miles
for meters, select kilometersIt has unit settings for miles time latitudes and temp but nothing for height settings
It has a setting for distance (miles or meters), the distance setting is for height, width, length, in fact anything that’s measured in distance, like the distance from the road to the top of the vehicle 
Set the distance setting to miles and you will be able to set the height in feet and inches, set the distance to meters and that will be the measurement type for height, length ec’t

To be honest I didn’t really read many of the other posts, I was looking at the OPs question, which was about the settings on a Tomtom.
But yes some of it does make you wonder
