Tom Tom pro 5150 truck v snooper truckmate pro s5000

Hi advice needed. Ive seen an advert in a mag for the above 2 sat nav. The Tom Tom is £299 with full lifetime updates and the snooper is £329.95 again with life time updates. Both euro maps and both available over 4 months interest free. I’ve used Tom Tom before but never HGV mapping and I’ve never used a snooper before so which is the one to go for. The web address is www.naonline.co.uk/trucking if anyone is interested. Cheers.

Have a look around at viewforum.php?f=8
theres lots on here already about them and i’d choose a tomtom every time

I recently purchased the tom tom pro 5150 truck edition… superb!! that is all

Pay monthly for a sat nav, are you having a laff. Get a map

Although they are life time updates it is mildly misleading, in the respect that, it only applies to the map that is supplied when new. You will not get the new map when one is released without upgrading

I have had a Snooper and it was absolutely rubbish. When I took it back to the retailer they gave me back my money without any questions. What do you think why? Take the TomTom.

You do with the Tomtom. 4 new maps each year. get the Tomtom it is the best.

Snoopers crap had mine for 2 months, now back to the tomtom.

TomTom 5150 ALL DAY LONG!!!

This one comes with 12 months subscription to the LIVE service for FREE!

I know it costs after it, but in the 12 months, it is well worth having, you get live traffic reports, google search and live speed camera updates from snooper as well as a couple of other features I have not tried (Weather etc.)

Also the TomTom can be edited (Block road for HGV etc.) and the snooper does not support anything like this

TomTom Live services cost £47.50 per year after 12 months, there is no obligation to keep them if you dont want them, you will continue to get the 4 map updates a year free with or without the subscription.

If you use the same sat nav in the car, then I would say it is money well spent… especially if it diverts you away from a 1 hour delay on the dartford bridge that is not signposted until you pass the last junction

I have a snooper s8000 and apart from it being ■■■■■■ in London ( but so was my old TomTom). I have no complaints really, and it works as a digital free view tv

With the Tom Tom live services and it tells you there is another route 30 mins faster,
I advise you to take it.
That’s if you have put in all the correct weights, lengths, heights, etc etc.
It’s always been spot on for me.
It can also save you a load in fuel too as well as time.

My 5150 dropped it’s first bollock yesterday.

Wanted Morrisons at Upton near Chester, and it took me through some houses to a low bridge, with the store on the other side. Just what the residents want at 06:00 on a Sunday morning with a fridge on.

Then I remembered where the store was and did a diversion myself.

Thanks
Currently got a 2009 model garmin, that has served me well, but it struggles now so time to gdt something newer. We go east a fair bit, bulgaria, romania, turkey etc, so after something that gives decent coverage in these places at street level.
Main routes doesn’t matter as my euro maps are fine.
