Today I have been mostly driving like a spanner

At 52 years old and 30 years HGV class 1 and 33 years with a full license I have driven like a ■■■■■■■■■ I’ve chosen wrong lanes , sorry all the people queuing in Melton, clipped kerbs, took three attempts on easy bays today.

Driven like a plank. Hopefully all will be resumed tomorrow.

Never mind, crack on drive :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

I think we all have them days, one day I’m getting ■■■■■■
off with idiots cutting me up not reading the road and getting in the wrong lanes the next I’m doing it. One day I’ll get my rigid between a couple of gate posts both mirrors in and have to climb out the window and up and over to the back the next I couldn’t put the thing between a barn door just dust yourself off and look forward to a normal drive resuming tomorrow.

At least you realise what your doing. There are so many that drive like spanners or planks as I would prefer to call them and do not even realise they are doing it!
They actually think they are good drivers when you speak to them.Amazing reality.

Had those days myself, sometimes you seem to be unable to hit a barn door if your stood on the handle.

Last week I had to 90 degree reverse the van between a couple of obsticles for a delivery, did it first time and was well chuffed, about 2" to spare either side, got out and found I’d gone back too far and couldn’t open the tailift for the wall! Embarrased move forward needed

You never said, you must tell us all more about it :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

What refreshing honesty, we all have days like that and it’s nice to know I’m not the only one.

I always drive like a spanner.

Same old same old i suppose

Dunno what it is, I am always fine, it’s the wagon that has the bad day… Honest

Hell yeah, some days I can back onto the tightest of awkward bays like driving god, others I really feel like asking someone else to take over  . Know I’m not the only one as I’ve seen very experienced drivers who do the same run every day completely bollox it, just the way it is :unamused:

We all mess-up now and again, its realising it and giving ourselves a mental kicking that sorts the drivers from the screw-drivers.

Happens all the time to me. Happened yesterday, made a right dogs dinner of every bay. What’s worse is I can just imagine drivers watching and thinking ’ how on earth has that Muppet got a lorry like that’. Could always be worse, three years now since I was last week acquainted with a ditch :wink:

Thinking about it it may happen to me a lot because I’m a crap driver

I feel sorry for the guys driving auto box dafs, everyday there bouncing off loading bays , pulling out on people a few seconds after they should have done and surging forward at warp factor 10 :frowning:

I am only telling the truth unfortunately.I wish it was not like that but that is the way for a lot of experienced drivers… :frowning:

Was allocated an auto xf today for my first ever class1 outing. Cant make any comparisons yet (obviously), but i didnt think it was too bad. I did however get a “friendly” honk from a car when i thought i had time to enter the roundabout! I just set the dial to reverse in “tortoise” mode to back onto my bay and didnt have any probs. Cant wait to drive a real nice unit though!!

bertie - you sure you didn`t mean to type ■■■■■■?
