Tobacco smuggling lorry driver jailed for one year

m.hulldailymail.co.uk/Lorry-driv … story.html

He got a year’s imprisonment, should’ve murdered someone would have only got a caution for that, just proves money is more important.I think a year is a bit harsh.

When you think of how the cheating their expenses mps got off and the bankers who brought the banks to meltdown and they never got jailed this man should have got a pat on the back saving thousands for us smokers. One law for them and one for us. That’s democracy or so they say.

Defraud Government = jail time.

Beat pensioner = suspended sentence.

When did you ever see anyone convicted for murder and given anything other than a life sentence?

Have you ever known of anyone given a caution for killing someone?

Sent using smoke and mirrors

Thank you

Should have been 10 years, smoking is a disgusting habit and he could have contributed to some of our children starting the evil habit !!
By the way I gave up smoking just 4 weeks ago and now on the vaping habit, but he deserved more than just £2000 for what he did cos the going rate was 25% of the profit (allegedly)

I tried vaping once, but it was a bit like alcohol-free lager or a low-calorie Steak and Kidney pie, it didn’t quite hit the spot.

Well after being a heavy smoker for 53 years (started when I was 14) my eldest lad gave me one of his old E cigs and although I cant believe it mesen I have not once craved for a real ciggie since and on Sunday I walked up a very steep hill with no problem at all that a couple of months ago I would not have been able too. But bit too early to tell if it will improve me ■■■ life as still away from home lol

Nothing like murder, but you’ll claim it as it fits your narrative. :unamused:

No, it has never happened. Not once. Ever. No-one (in this country) has ever been convicted of murder and given anything other than a life sentence (other than the ones who got a death sentence, of course). Neither has anyone ever been given a caution for killing someone. It simply doesn’t happen, despite what the Daily Mail/Sun/Mirror/[insert name of preferred scandal sheet here] tell the knuckle draggers to believe.

But none of the three cases you linked to were murder convictions. One was attempted murder, the other two were manslaughter convictions.

No, not everything. Just a single example of anyone being convicted for murder and receiving anything other than a life (or death  ) sentence, or anyone receiving a caution for killing someone. Surely that’s not too much too ask? The OP seemed pretty sure it was commonplace, and even said he could find examples if he could be arsed to search.
