To the Robert Burns driver on the A66 this morning

I thought dozy was a better driver than that…but i digress, i dont always drive flat out on dual carriageways myself, so need i apologise for those who have to wait patiently behind, especially when i must have cost them 2 minutes in time…a lot think that just because the speed limits have been raised for duals everyone has to drive to those limits, and i certainly dont make anymore money by keeping it down a bit, i still walk away with my £2 grand at the end of the month.

ajt:
If he was edging out looking to overtake flashing lights and blasting the horn then yeah different story.

No horn but he kept popping out to have a look.

The diversion signs on the A66 seem to be up all the time even if the A1 is open, for a few shifts i followed them through Barnard Castle but then i was told by another driver the A1 North was open and had been for ages

then last week the Matrix signs on the M6 and the one on the A66 said the A1 North was closed so i took the diversion but the second night no Matrix signs were lit up but the diversion signs were still there and luckily i did take the diversion as it was still closed North Bound !! :unamused:

dozy:
I came down from Carlisle the other evening and got into barlborough with 6 mins too spare , I wouldn’t of made it if I’d of had too follow you , there’s no need for this 50 mph crap these days , you can run the 66 on the limiter without fear of getting done , the only reason anyone does 50 on a s/c is too drag a few more £ ,s out the job .
Too be honest I wouldn’t of sat on your back doors I’d of been comming past you :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

Or maybe the reason to do it is because its the law, if we take the pi$$ the police will take an interest and I have Microlise tracking me.

Its interesting you mentioned the money dozy because you broke the law risking 3 points on your license to take money out of your own pocket. You did yourself out of at least an hours wages so who is the bigger fool? And if you made it to Barlborough with just 6 minutes to spare then thats the fault of your planners. I worked at Barlborough for a couple of months when I was shunting for Stobbies and it wouldn’t have mattered if you didn’t make it because all you do when you get there is drop the trailer on the park and the shunters take care of it anyway.

Are all Stobart drivers as bigger mugs as dozy is? I find it hard to believe that they are. Maybe you should ask the ones who work there who seem to be quite laid back who you go steaming past on the A66 as they sit there trundling along how to do the job dozy because they’ve obviously worked out how to do it and work it to their benefit better than you have. I would imagine it starts with the words “ignore the time the planners give you.”

I’m so glad I drive for a place where I’m not expected to drive bent to get the job done where runs are planned with plenty of time and absolutely no pressure is put on the driver and if the driver says something can’t be done they’re listened to.

The matrix signs were up on the M6 Tooz and he’d have passed them. Maybe he was too far up someones backside on the M6 to see them there too. Or maybe for reasons I can’t fathom out he thought that roadworks not booked to be lifted until 6am would’ve been lifted before 4am but I’ve never seen that happen at Scotch Corner and I’ve been going through them enough times since they started doing it.

No not all of them.
I have a mate who drives for them, he certainly does not allow himself to let some of those tossers push him to the limit.
It’s like anywhere you work, those with no balls who succumb to pressure get run ragged.
Those with a brain and a set of balls do not…it aint complicated.

I was going too barlborough too park up for the night , I didn’t have a load on for them , and as for are all stobart drivers mugs , I don’t drive for stobarts I drive for mib , and I think a driver who wants too get somewhere where he can get a shower , hot meal , gym etc isn’t the mug , the driver who happy plodding along behind the idiot tossing it off and then ending up n a layby with no facilities is .

P/s I stick at 50 because on some roads that’s the most you can do with out losing yer load out the side as I don’t want to be picking 1t drums of cable or loads of decking planks up

Oh give me a break , I’m often up that way and I can’t remember the last time I saw a copper on the 66 , do you really think there going too do you for 56 in a 50 :unamused: , all this is about is dragging a few more pounds out the job :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

But credit to the Dozy one, he does work for the UK’s ‘numero ouno’ haulier :unamused:

What’s it got too do with the company , planner or joe blogs , I want to end up parking in somewhere where I can get a shower , hot food , gym etc ( barlborough ) , I made it just , if I’d of followed Connor dragging the job out I’d of ended up in a layby etc with no facilities .

Got to remember doze, lots of drivers are on telematics these days. Regardless of police enforcement, my company expects me to drive legal and to the speed limit. So I (as many others I suspect) do.

Out of interest where is this park at Barlborough with all these facilities doze?

Also mate can you explain how Conor driving at 50 in a 50 zone could be described as ‘tossing it off’ …just curious how you come to this.

Sounds like the stobart depot at barlborough links .

Punchy Dan:

Oh right.
Yeh but he’s just told us he no longer drives for Stobarts.

Don’t he drive the blue stobrat trucks? hence parking in stobrat yards :sunglasses: :sunglasses:
They all ■■■■ in the same pot don’t they■■?

How you see his Brake Light when he drives behind you?

Doing 50 (when I could) on the A346 into Malborough this morning, and the tool behind me was pushing for more!

We have gone from 40 mph to 50 mph and now some want 60 mph! Some people don’t have a minute to live.

He’s dragging the job out , you know that and I know that ( and so did the R.burns driver) , I’m for ever comming East / west across the 66 and you can run that every day ofbthe week on the limiter without any hassle , do you think there going too do you for doing 56 in a 50 :unamused: .
If he wants to drag it out / toss it off then pull over and do it in a layby , there’s plenty too choose from

Connor can come up with all excuses he wants , but I know what he was up too , trying too drag a few extra ££££ out the job , I know it and everyone else does , then he’s got the cheek to come on here saying he’d been hassled by a big / bad R burns driver , if so why didn’t he just pull into a lay-by, get out the way there’s plenty too choose from , but no I’m doing 50 so everyone else must :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: .
