Get rid of mother state engine limiters and it won’t happen as much 450/500/600 hp trucks doing 40/50mph ridiculous ok until you have to get passed someone safetly and you are stuck on the limiter surely a truck driver is professional enough not to have to be shackled by a limiter, tacho records the speed.
First time posting here and still not sure if this thread is a ■■■■ take.
Forget about Highway code, rules of the road, manners, etiquette and all if that. You are a professional driver clocking up tens of thousands of miles every year and YOU hold the most responsibility for getting home safe to your family every evening. In my opinion, the second you moved to the left, you gave the other driver the ok to pass, if you decided to not lift off the throttle while edging to the left, that’s hardly his fault. Your only other option was to hold your line and force him onto the brakes. Depends what stage of passing he was at when you moved left. You assessed the situation and made a slight error of judgement, which obviously hurt your pride a little, but trying to take the moral high ground on an internet forum doesn’t’t change the outcome…

You’d like to think so wouldn’t you be drivers driving to fast was the reason we were shackled with them
TOO fast!
Never had a problem with Grocontinental, but I’d like to thank the Paddy wagon that flashed it’s lights at me repeatedly this afternoon on the A40 to draw attention to the fact I was speeding; I eased back from 42 to 40mph and he flashed again in recognition…helpful chap.

. . . on the A41 around Ternhill - Market Drayton around 0700 hrs, I just want to say I hope you are proud to have nearly killed me or caused a very serious accident.I was in a 44t artic too and as the dual-carriageway begins to end and goes single again he decides to overtake me forcing me over to the left causing me to vere on to the end of a slip road for a side lane (thank God it was there) then I hit the kerb and went onto the grass verge!!
Your reg was [zb] by the way and you derserve to be punished. Idiots like you shouldn’t be on the road in any capacity let alone driving class one vehicles. If you want to kill yourself then feel free but dont involve anyone else!!!
IDIOT!
im not getting involved in the playground stuff, but did he acknowledge his mistake, weve all done them,i.e did he give you a few flashes to say sorry mate i ballsed up there, you can forgive a driver if he just says sorry mate,i had similar on r/o ,he came flying in and straight out in front causing me to anchor up,i was well ■■■■■■ off,but got behind him[ready to attack

], then he gave me a couple of flashes[indicators
] and all was forgiven,if they say sorry its end of as far as im concerned
I agree. Ady1 in common sense shocker.
But you’re right, a couple flash of hazards or indicators can quickly defuse a situation as it’s their way of apologising for getting it a bit wrong.

We get it , you drive at 40 mph on singles.
The daily reminders are not required.

Another car driver phoned my boss and said i was making ■■■■■■■ faces.
That’s funny
Some bloke phoned my firm to say I was ‘racing’ them - in central London

Why on earth do folk on here complain on here about other drivers, whats the point??,99percent of them probaly won’t read it.God if i was to post everytime I got cut up ect…ect…i would be filling page after page after page.At the end of the day…back off and let them get on with it.
Totally agree with you on this ‘smallp’ but can anyone explain why fully freighted 44tonners seem quite happy to trundle along behind you at 86kms and then pull out to overtake as soon as you hit some kind of incline
Unless I have to really drop my speed I knock the cruise control down a few clicks and let them get on their way, usually catch them up later on though

Did do 52 (flatout for me I’m afraid as the economy mode was never turned off on mine) on the way back to the pit after last load…5pm is a late finish for me

Nathan when you turned off did he wave and indicate how many mile an hour you were going over the speed limit
As regards Grocontinental I am in and out of there often delivering plant and just live down the road from there yard so know most of there drivers. I have known Dave, Linda and Ray Grocott for longer than I care to remember. They would not be pleased to hear of a driver that was not up to standard and believe me he would be out on his ear. The company has a good reputation in the area and does a lot for the local area We all make mistakes now and again and hopefully learn from them so just except it and put it down to experience. The words" let him that has not sinned cast the first stone " come to mind
Stay cool and professional
