Should also mention it was only my third artic job !!

I know where you coming from mate, but with respect if the times you posted were correct, that shouldn’t make a difference unless you did 30mph each way. Have you done similar work on a rigid before?

About 1900? I have been doing Artics got the last 10 days or so and each time getting more confident. But the rain today slowed everyone down as well as a few incidents on the motorway.

Go on then, what time did you get back. Give us the ins and outs
I thought i did well, back and parked up at 17.28, filled in paperwork etc and clocked out at 18.00.
Then i asked if i was going on the job tomorrow to Southampton as i did it the other day and really enjoyed it and was told " were puting you back on the rigids for a bit cause you took to long to do that job today!"
To be honest i felt a bit ■■■■■■ but sat here working out all the times and tryin to see where i could have saved some time and apart from stopping at the services for a quick pee that took all of ten mins i cant see where i lost any time.
Load got collected and delivered, no laws broke, no damage to the truck so thought i was doin well, prob just feelin a bit sorry for myself now.

■■■■ em mate. You drove through some ■■■■ weather and got the truck back in one piece including yoursefl! I reckon 17.30 was very respectable. Only way you could have saved a little time was maybe taking a 15 whilst waiting to be tipped and then a 30 at the msa but it its a marginal saving !

I was planning on putting the tacho on rest for the unload but you have to move the truck twice while being unloaded so they can get to the front and the other side so was 10 mins stationary at best

Only thing I can see is you could have added 5 mins to your ‘pee break’ and made it the first part of a split break as I did today. It makes a difference sometimes. Especially if you pull in just before ‘queue after next junction’ lol
Seems like they expected you to do it in record time and be as quick as the regular who knows the run inside out.
Can’t be doing with that kind of crap. At the end of the day, they know you are not long out of training school so should cut you some slack.

I agree, plus the regular lag that does it probably didnt have to drive through a monsoon to get it done. I heard on the radio all day today about the rain and storms up your way!
As i say, ■■■■ em!

Unless during the load / unload you are literally sat there and not involved in any way - like containers - then WHY would you put it on break whilst loading / unloading? You’re not on break, so why record a break? You’re working, so you record work.
Sounds like your boss is a ■■■ mate to be honest, tell him I said so, and you can name and shame him in pm so I never work for the muppet.

so, if you start driving at 09.45 what time would you expect to be back??
When I got back.
My answer too, job takes as long as it takes. Experience will get you on the door a tiny bit quicker in most circumstances, but even drivers with 30yrs under their belt will have that day when the bloody door keeps moving
I think I’m lucky in that I’ve never worked for anyone who rushes me, and have no interest in doing either. I’ve had jobs that pay by the day though, and they still take as long as they take and I still stick to the speed limits etc.
Well I would’ve expected to be back bang on that time, so fair play mate. Maybe your boss thought you were stringing it at the load point. I think you did alright
