“On that note why would we have to impose any EU legislation here to apply domestically and other than in the case of meeting EU type approval for goods destined to the EU market, after Brexit, other than as part of the obvious remainer plan of remain in all but name. ?.”
Read and learn…we are retaining EU law…it’s now all British law.
If we take truck emissions, for example, the ‘Euro’ standards have been adopted pretty much everywhere except North America. They are in force in Australasia and being phased in in Africa. Japan has got its standards into line with Euro standards, as has India. The idea that they won’t apply in the UK is absurd…they are already written in to local government legislation in London and elsewhere.
Same for Driver CPC, tachographs, drivers hours etc etc.
The Brexiter argument reminds me a bit of a forthcoming ad campaign for a new SUV-style car…it’s designed in Japan, made in France, is 2WD only…and sold with a Vauxhall badge on the front. The slogan is going to be 'Keep calm and carry on"!

You could not make it up.
If EU type approval is mandatory in Australasia how is it that I can buy a ■■■■■■■ powered truck with an 18 speed Fuller box in it there but not here ?.So yet more remainer bs.
As for the so called retention of EU law in UK statute then what would be the point of nullifying the European Communities Act.The fact is after that act has been ditched there’s nothing that says any or all of that EU law can’t then be taken out of UK statute given the will to do it.But yes I’d agree there’s a massive question mark over why would the premise be on keeping EU law and only potentially chucking out what we don’t want.As opposed to chucking it all out then re instating only what can be shown as being essential. The idiotic EU drivers’ hours regs certainly being just one example of EU law that we could do without in favour of an updated domestic regs regime.Obviously in addition to bs EU type approval requirements for UK reg vehicles.
Remainers having hijacked Brexit and then telling us that it will be remain in all but name. You couldn’t make it up but unfortunately all so bleedin predictable with this country being so infested with EU quislings who hate their own country and who only bear allegiance to the zb EU flag.
You will note their reference to the global acceptance of European emissions standards. This includes, as I previously stated, pretty much everywhere outside North America.
The reason you can’t buy a truck with the big ■■■■■■■ engine engine in it in the UK is because the British truck manufacturers, who were incapable of making their own modern engines, are no longer in business. Where Euro manufacturers use a ■■■■■■■ engine, it is built to their spec and carries their badge (DAF, Scania and Iveco). British operators preferred European ‘vertically integrated’ designs to a collection of components under a cab made from tupperware or old biscuit-tins and bits of wood.
The British truck market has shrunk so much since Brexit that some manufacturers at the foot of the table are now questioning whether it’s worth continuing to build RHD 6x2 tractors for us. So the chances of them making unique UK designs that aren’t type approved to international standards are pretty slim. Most UK heavy trucks end their days as exports. To be exported, they have to meet international standards.

Exactly where does it say that EU exhaust emissions standards aren’t part of EU type approval ?.While it also obviously says that ‘‘US standards are accepted there as alternatives’’ ( unlike within the zb EU ) and which obviously means that they DON’T HAVE TO MEET EU emissions standards because US ones will obviously do fine.Just like they can have a Fuller box there unlike trucks sold within the EU.
So you now have to agree that Australian and NZ market trucks don’t have to meet EU type approval.Which actually by definition includes EU emissions standards. While you were obviously trying to make the case that they do.So you and the EU will obviously have no problem with the idea that after Brexit we can import Australian made trucks and US cars for registration here without the need to meet EU type approval or for EU tariffs to be applied to them.So which part have I got wrong ?.In that the only thing stopping it is the fact that your mate remainer May and her stinking remainer infested Party has no intention whatsoever of cutting our shackles to the EU.Which is why a statement to that effect, regarding the change in our trading arrangements with ‘the colonies’,hasn’t been made nor will it be without UKIP getting enough seats to force it on the quisling Europhile LabLibDemCon alliance establishment.
In which case why do we need to apply EU type approval to UK reg vehicles after Brexit ?.In just the same way that it doesn’t have to apply to NZ reg vehicles as you’ve admitted yourself.
While also still no answer yet as to why UK TIR convention membership is supposedly mutually exclusive with us not being an EU member state ?.So yet more remainer project fear bs.
My prediction is that within 20 years the EU as we know it will no longer exist .
The immigration problem is rising rapidly throughout northern Europe and major financial problems are being faced by many parts of southern Europe .
Us leaving will open the floodgates of others following suit .

It’s more likely that the EU will create a Federal army before things reach that point. After which it then becomes the perfect storm of a much bigger version of the former Yugoslavia.Except unfortunately without the loyal Nationalist militias which defeated the JNA forces in this case.

^^^^ That’s my gut feeling too. I also feel that the reason that they are making things as difficult as possible for us to leave is as some kind of warning to other countries wishing to follow suit. I imagine that “they” are terrified and appalled that their whole deck of cards will come crashing down leaving them jobless and more importantly unelectable in their respective home countries.
