It’s not sad if you are salaried like me, and want to get home. The less hours you are at work in the day, the more your equivalent hourly rate. :unamused:

Combine that with not having a limiter and more than one tacho card and your hourly rate must rocket!

No limiter, salaried and work related bonus , there the ones to work for…

Mostly only do drop and swop no tipping/unloading but if i fancy a couple or so hours off at Reims where the facilities at the yard are good i just switch it to break and leave it there, same with the groupage loads to Portugal, even if theres need to give a hand it stays on break, saves time…

I never record break when I’m working, unless it benefits me.

Naziesque taliban style. When off road DVSA shouldnt have any authority on private premises imo…

Cough… You’re supposed to be driving a tang V8 on trip money ATM. (Or have I missed your latest change of job?)

They don’t get ya on site, they pounce on you as soon as you leave.

Weeto, why do you want to take your break next to an Aldi warehouse bay standing up for 45 minutes? If you need a break take a real one and enjoy it, smoke a pipe, watch some ■■■■, catch some rays then have a snooze. Etc etc.

Settle down beaver. Life’s not a race. Own your time. Take a hamlet break during the day, get home 30 mins later and be more at one with the world. Your pay packet will be the same regardless.

They must do some kind of recce on site as to what the drivers doing though, ie helping tip or on his bunk watching lesbians smother themselves in chocolate…

I used to be salaried and to begin with I’d race about as most days it was job and knock but after a few weeks I thought sod this and just took my time and yes got home possibly 20 to 30 minutes later but certainly had a more relaxed and enjoyable day but unfortunately a lot of people can’t understand my thinking behind it.

Yep nothing worse than getting home stressed still in tear arse mode.
I prefer a foot off Friday and tootle about back at the yard just catching the back end of the rush-hour and arriving home nice and relaxed into the welcoming legs of Mrs Dipper, time it right and just the perfect amount of wine has been consumed to loosen her ■■■■■■■ and mine.

Yet if I get home an hour earlier, she is stressed from work, I’m under her feet whilst she sorts herself out and a row will normally follow, with me kipping on the sofa that night.

Getting the right balance can be crucial to a stress free, quiet life.

Going home with no one else there is the way. No one to argue with except yourself.
Plenty of good looking Spanish senoritas at my local H2o bar…mind you its always quite dark in there… :grimacing:

I do enough of that already i think… :grimacing:

Especially at ALDI or LIDL…put it on break…if you need one have it before or after dont care what the boss tells you…its your money…your licence…if you are having to sit in a waiting room whilst others tip you…you can put it on break…good luck.

Agreed although some people say I can argue with myself

I quite like the Newton Aycliffe one, for us it’s always a drive up the day before and tip in the morning, the Locomotion One just off the estate is a nice pub.

Have heard that also believe there is a shower in there for drivers but as it is less than 1 hr from home I never stop there

Only ever seen them at 1 depot ever but it was not a lidl or an aldi, was a big place in Kent, I think drivers worry to much about vosa/dvsa, more chance of winning something on the lottery than getting pulled, in 28 years only been pulled about 5 times for a road side check and l last time was about 19 years ago.
