tippers

Listening to to many tall tales driver. Make.a change to see a driver can speak English on a site.

We sometimes see the "Strathaven suicide squad " & the bulk tipper mob from Wales around here :exclamation:

The welsh mob done a lot out of the olympics

Youll and Dodds and Clywd?

That’s the ones, see it’s not true the Cockney tipper boys don’t fire bomb everyone who ventures into the “smoke” you’re welcome to join us any time soon

Is that why the likes of them, G Webb etc have such large bodies? Must be a nightmare when the weighloader packs up.

They’re not the only Red Arrows Ace; There’s another sort who text subbies around Xmas saying “plenty of work in the new year…if you give us a xmas present.”
I’ve seen such a text to, and lets say the number matches one of their employees.

Muckaway:
Is it true the London firms are non too friendly with regards to “outsiders” getting work in their area? There’s a mmtm story around here that you don’t venture past J1 of the M40.

I’m a scouser and drove tippers and grabs in London for 5 years (15 years ago), good times. Never had a bad word said to me by anyone, that includes the cb too. Worked for sivyers, Danny Andrews and erith haulage

Is tipper hire really expensive around London and the surrounding counties? In the last week we’ve been on chalk and rubble from Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross and Tring. The chalk was mostly tipped at farms around Aylesbury. Apparently the farmers use it for cattle bedding and when finished with, makes a lime rich manure for the fields. This job was just up the road from Clark Contracting who have a massive chalk pit at Pitstone.
The Gerrards Cross job is just up the road from Quattro. HTF can Oxfordshire based lorries come up (at least 1 hours empty drive) and do it cheaper?
(Note we work for the contractor on day rate).

perhaps the likes of clarke contracting etc are on a really good screw elsewhere? plenty of their motors doing muck out of the new Aldi site in hemel…although saying that i’ve seen a few Kanes motors in there aswell-kanes pay peanuts though.cant envisage clarkes paying much either being based in the sticks…

Seen loads of Glynns and Holywells running through Aylesbury, too. Kane always seemed like an “upmarket” operator, kit always looks tidy.

Not that expensive rates have risen a bit lately but theres a few big muckshifts on so guess theres a shortage of motors about.

Anyone ever done this?
Doctoring the landfills sites’ copy of the waste ticket so it has a different customer and address on it to bypass having tested.

Technicly wrong but we have all done it to get the job done. If its landfill cover its old ■■■■ anyway

holywell are running to calvert-(easy job,■■■■■■■ boring though!!)
as for Kane being an “upmarket” outfit, they dont pay very much and the guvnor is a rather unpleasant individual.
i wouldnt work for him even if he paid really well…

What do Holywell carry that needs high sided muck bodies? Transfer fines?
KANE “not very nice boss”

yes fines. three loads a day from hemel to calvert -piece of ■■■■ but i’d go mad doing the same run day in day out!!
used to drive me mad running muck from hemel to newton longville when we were quiet on the grabs-five loads on a weekday .easy but a soul destroying drive…
didnt mind it on a saturday though, only three loads.really easy but some clever sods decided to start early and were walking out the yard at about 11.30 am… needless to say that soon stopped and you then had to do three muck then go to our yard in luton and bring a load of stone back to hemel.so needed a 45 break aswell. it all became a bit a bit of a rush then lol.

I do four a day barking to pitsea and three on a saturday week in week out. The other driver has been doing it 27 years.
