tippers

Muckaway:
Our newest arrivals are 08 reg P340s, ex Thames Materials. No traces of cyclist brain matter on them though but the interiors wont win any prizes at Truckfest.

No surprises there some of the drivers seemed to have an allergy to soap/shower gel

muckaway when do you get to drive a tipper the amount of time u spend on here  if u r paid by the load you must earn peanuts

Good job your boss aint a daf fan he could buy x s walsh lorrys. Not one of them could drive nails with a good hammer.

My boss has been told Hino now do a Euro 6, is this true? He’s been quoted silly money for 5 new Scanias and with the stupid wait for a bonnet release cable for my wagon (2 weeks), broken diff, broken propshaft and a blown engine on it’s sister wagon, they’re looking to get a demo from Hino. Been quoted as Ā£40k per wagon less than Scania, with weighers, reversing cameras, auto sheets etc all thrown in.

Are those the two from Mitchell? their drivers work hard and they don’t hang about.

Only got one ex Mitchell wagon, that’s been the most reliable of the lot.

What is the law regarding carrying slurry in tippers? I refuse to as I don’t trust my tailgate but what if you have those twistlocks in addition to a tailgate pin/auto lock? I know tips aren’t meant to accept slurry unless they have a proper bay to dry it or to mix with drier materials (it destabilises tips apparently). A driver got caught today with said material after some ā€œescapedā€ so I thought I’d ask the question.

My dad started monday up yourway guy got lorrys near gaydon all lateish scanias. Funny enough said they were running real wet ā– ā– ā– ā– .
Id day use your loaf if you got a nice square good quality body like a thompsom they will hold water in. A beaten up old rock body or a shaged out ali ran on muck and concrete no

A few years ago had a job which was carting dredged material from small stream/river had ā€œturnbucklesā€ fitted halfway up the tailboard & builders plastic sheet on the floor(prevented the crap from sticking) but had to be tipped at a designated tip & dried out, they reckoned it was a very good soil supplement!

My turnbuckles have been broken/taken off. Our ex Thames Materials ones have them but on at least one they’re seized up or bent.

A lot of people say I’d rather be on the dole than work for stobarts I’d rather sign on than work for s Walsh I couldn’t hack the embarrassment of people seeing me. Don’t know what they pay but heard its ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  I don’t fancy the flat cap and wifebeater vest that seems to me the uniform.

Is it true the London firms are non too friendly with regards to ā€œoutsidersā€ getting work in their area? There’s a mmtm story around here that you don’t venture past J1 of the M40.

Keep yer doors locked & yer jack handle on the dash!
