tippers

Every local driver knows, “Kane’s a ■■■■■

kr79:
I do four a day barking to pitsea and three on a saturday week in week out. The other driver has been doing it 27 years.

bloody hell-27 years!! how long until YOU’RE bored with it though?
mmmmm pitsea- i pulled a very tidy bird from pitsea once when i was out in southend lol

where you from F-reds?

I also talk to a couple of the Clark lads as they deliver topsoil for us. They tell me they take home £450ish per week average. But I must say they never look unhappy, nor rushed, and are always clean. Mostly drive pretty new tackle too.

That said, I wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of whoever is charge. their company nail is… Well just a peach… :unamused:

F-reds

Harpenden, you?

F-reds:

Harpenden!! how posh are you ?!!!
i’m from Hitchin-(the nice part lol).

Have to admit, I am finding tippers a bit boring, compared to multi drop that I did. Backwards and forwards Tring to Ardley has had me MISSING :open_mouth: doing the flour deliveries. I think with multi drop you choose your order of work rather than having it told to you over and over. Either that, or I’ve done it for so long it feels like there’s nothing left to do.

you could work for a firm like i do for the time being-a small utilities firm subbing work from a massive plc-we get all the ■■■■ work, under pressure all day due to the opening notices from the local authorities, total chaos every day, however it always seems to pan out ok and i am usually finished before 4 o’clock every day ,and i live less than three miles from the yard.i may be making a move in the near future though…

I’m not that posh old chap… Had to let my bloody personal valet go last week. He just couldn’t get my outfit right, kept forgetting my cravat…

If you wanted to see just how not posh Harpenden is, then check out Jewson Branch in Southdown. I hear they are getting a second wagon, to pick up the slack from the independent merchants that just closed.

Andrew s who are you on for?

yes they’re still about, although dont know much about what they do,i pass a few of the blokes i worked with from time to time-their motors are white now instead of the awful mustard yellow of old lol.(i was there ten years ago-blinding firm to work for, really didnt want to leave, very very good money, all good blokes,(management included)but when we went a liittle slack us new boys were laid off, even though some of the old boys wernt worth a light!! but they would have cost a lot more to lay off -14 years plus compared to 2 or 3 years.)
i think they have something to do with Cappagh drainage on thames water contract work.
