Hi Dave,
Do you know if Goughs are still running that hi line Scania, I see it is no longer wearing Ennstone signwriting.
Cheers

Hi Mark,
Gough’s Scania is in Hanson colours,it’s never been in Ennstone livery, they have that and a Daf eight wheeler in Hanson livery.
Pictured below.
Cheer Dave.
Daf of Goughs seen at Carmarthen Truckshow.
Sorry Dave bit of a misunderstanding. Im thinking of a different Gough I think. Im sure the blue & yellow one in your pic was run in Ennstone colours by HJ Gough who I thought were from your neck of the woods.
Cheers
Mark
Hi Mark,
The only Gough’s this way in road haulage, are A E Gough & Sons from Llandrindod Wells and A H Gough from Knighton.

Why does “Steel Slag Make for Safer Roads”?

Why does “Steel Slag Make for Safer Roads”?
It goes back to the origins of TARMAC when Mr Hickman first used the material, the tar was spread over the slag from his steelworks in Wolverhampton, stone was only really used later when slag supplies dwindled. The truck in the pic will be operating from STEELPHALT’s plant near Rotherham, they had a large Foden fleet and I occasionaly used to take limestone dust into there from Milltown quarry in Derbyshire but never loaded any black stuff back out.
Pete.
