Further information about the “considerate” driver, he has been charged with a public order offence, oh and the van had no MOT or vehicle tax. As I said, not the brightest.

There’s a few causes or ‘escalators’ of this incident…not hard to spot I know…
- Vanman’s driving was poor…passed cycleman then immediately moved into his space…no clear road to allow him to pass safely.
- Cycleman’s riding was poor…can’t be ‘holier than thou’ and undertake!
- Cycleman ramps it up and is courting trouble shouting at a couple of guys in a van!
- Cycleman is acting a bit like a vigilante challenging drivers. I doubt he would do so without his camera…wearing one on your bike, the modern phenomenon.
- Vanman lost it - forcing the cyclist off the road was crazy…he could have hurt him badly. Getting out was a worse idea as someone is getting it, possibly Vanman.
These incidents are happening every day now due to bad driving as well as bad cycling and increasingly they’re being tracked on cameras and mobiles…that’s just the way it is. We all need to cool it in such incidents if possible.
Personally I would avoid getting out the wagon to anyone no matter how mad I was - although it’s difficult I know! If you get out, worst case you may meet a bigger/angrier/madder ■■■■■■ than you. Best case you’ll be on youtube before you can say ‘knockout’!
The ‘one punch’ thing is scarier than we all realize…remember the guy doesn’t need to be huge or to ‘hammer punch’ you…he simply needs to knock you flying and you then hit your head on the pavement, wall, lorry bumper, whatever…game over. Way to go but not for me…on either side of the punch.
And yes I’m the same as everyone else…would easily get out if the red mist came down but I try to avoid at all costs!
I know it’s perverse but I still laughed at the footage! Difficult not too as no one was really hurt.

Sorry but I’m a bit rubbish at that. I found them on Twitter. One posted by Road CC telling you about the loon being charged, the other was by someone who made a vehicle enquiry to dvla, put in the vrn, turns out the van has been on a SORN since sept 14, incident happened in dec14. He’s passed the info on the the police apparently.
cyclst deserves everything he got,plus he didn’t get it hard enough…I would have thought he would have been more concerned with the bin truck nearly taking his elbow off earlier,but completely in the wrong for undertaking the van…number #1 reality check,landscape/tree surgeon etc vans are most likely to be piloted by macodougals out on the rob,and not your average joe.hence interact at your peril,not advisable if your a fanny on a bike,hence one predictable thrashing later by your standard Jason statham clone. (apologies in advance if your one of the few non macodougal workers in the arborist/tree surgeon professions) how refreshing to see yet another of the chip on the shoulder attitude problem u tube wannabees getting the good news he wholeheartedly deserves…bring it on white van man.

The cyclist was a muppet and had what was coming.
He was a wannabe road warrior that stops new roads being built due to spotting a lesser known Hawkeye Bill the Bob rare bird,last spotted when Queen Victoria was alive.
Or the Gold Crested Crimean newt ,last seen in the Crimean war.

hhmmmmm…I never saw it like that,so no doubt thatl be correct and not just a case of a fanny getting a well deserved slap for being a road commander,…please tell me your taking the mickey,and restore my faith in trucknet…

nahh, not joking!!
I reckon when the van guy heard the ‘get off the phone you muppet’ comment he put the brakes on and was straight out looking for trouble, not defending him but dunno if his intention was to knock the cyclist off, think he just wanted to go and scrap with him!

Ive watched this video again. To be fair nothing winds me up so much as this movement of pompous ivory tower cyclists with cameras riding around policing the roads, yelling quotes from the highway code and generally primed for trouble. Pious pricks. Belting him has only made their day though unfortunately.
