Can tell you work in the Public Sector !!! It defines the terms, not for Belgium, but for some legislation. What legislation does it define it for? I can’t see properly i get all mixed up.
Also what does this bit mean…
after hearing the oral observations of the United Kingdom, represented by D. Bethlehem, Barrister, and of the Commission at the hearing on 2 December 1993
Is it just the UK observations on Belgium or summat?
So where would the earlier quoted excerpts from 561/2006 fit in exactly?
Oh and cheers for tarring me with the public sector brush! Am here cos I have a passion for transport, for myself, and no other reason. Just clearing that up bud. But thats why we are all here and why we all love these debates!

If you look at the EUR Lex legislation site you can see that they affect the legislation in the same way the skills coaches legislation does, and they are both mentioned (with others) as affecting the legislation 561/2006. Neverthless, they’re still applicable to 3821/85 which is still very much current.
So we have a problem, VOSA lets people use 7 charts in a week which the legislation says is wrong, and it will penalise people for working past this 144 hour limit which is mentioned no where in the legislation !!!
zippy!:

Oh yes, they’re good!! Infact if we didn’t have them everyone would still be taking 30 minutes break after 6 hours working time like they where all told initially to do. Doesn’t stop the likes of Wincanton giving out infringements for not taking 30 mins break after 6 hours work, but who am i to stick my nose in !!

Skills coaches, always makes for a good conversation topic with Skills drivers, and a great educational advice pointer to many in that area (recording journeys).
WTD… doh, sounds like a subject for another day. Not my favourite. And looking at how that is enforced in Europe… (or not). When you talk about infingements found by companies, you would not belive how many still think 11 hours is possible after a 15 hour “spread” (without 3 hours in the middle) more than 3 times a week…
Whens the next do, if a non-driver is allowed it could be fun for discussions!
I too enjoyed it. It had me printing things off, reading my VOSA book, understanding, then frowning in confusion, leading to me hiding in my own fridge with my fingers in my ears singing “la la la la”
So what is the sodding answer■■? Not to the original post - that was easily sorted. But is it no more than 6 driving periods, or 144 hours, or 6 24hr periods■■? I came to this post feeling reasonably confident on the various rules and regulations, and am limping away from it a broken woman…

See?!! These repetitive posts are not always so banal and uneccesarily argumentative, there is an actual point to them !!

This is turning into another “can you drive an artic on class 2 licence” 18-pages-of-nonsense thread. It should’ve been answered with ‘yes’ in the first reply then locked and stickied.

LOL Rob, was that the one where the answer was yes as long as its not a Daf CF with a small cab and narrow bunk and you are using it for a night out?

Really? As far as i know you can’t drive an Artic on a class two licence. You need a C+E /class one/ artic licence or whatever you wanna call it. You got summat wrong there !!

No you cannot legally do four 10 hour driving days every week or in any week for that matter
You can do four consecutive 10 hour driving days if two are in one week and two in the other week, so four ten hour driving days between weekly rest periods is possible but not in a fixed week.
A week is Monday to Sunday so if you do 10 hour drives on Monday and Tuesday you have then used up your 10 hour driving days for that week and do not have any more available until the following Monday.
