Well I work for a large company in logistics and distribution & we could not survive without agency drivers.
Yes we employ over 60 full time drivers at my depot over 2 shifts, the company as a whole probably employ over 600 drivers throughout the UK mostly on C+E and C & C1 driving, but the need is out there for drivers at short notice hence you call an agency up to fill the gap urgently.
They get paid less, are on zero hrs contracts, but do the same work and represent the company.
If you’re saying that all agency drivers are not worth it then that’s a bold statement to be making?

Mate, it isn’t worth it. Generally speaking there are 2 groups, the very employable or unemployable. The ones that slag us off have seen the unemployable and judged us all based on that or they have seen the very employable and feels threatened by us. Either way an experienced agency driver will laugh at comments like that because we have heard it 1000 times before and are quite happy to prove them wrong 
Wow. We have a bona fida 20 year veteran of logistics on here. So…here goes.
I have been unfortunate enough to not know if I am working the next day or not. I clutched my lidl carrier bag with a firm grip so that my second hand ebay car sat-nav didn’t fall out. I also had a stone in my shoe,causing me to limp.

I appreciate your efforts regarding educating me on the need for temporary labour. I thought it was the last government that Blair ran. People like you bite far too easily. But what makes me laugh is that you think your 20 year statement makes you a big player.
