Threatened by a work colleague

today a fellow driver (he agy,i’m company driver) thought that 3 of us were laughing at him.he demanded to tell him what we were laughing at,i couldn’t be bothered talking to him,as he’s as loud as [zb]…so he started verbally abusing me :unamused: and said i’ll be outside in 5 minutes.he’s the sort who’ll be bellowing about it tomorrow,if we’re about at the same time.what should i do…try to ignore him,or report him asap? don’t want to get anyone the sack, but don’t want to get involved with him,or get involved in any fisticuffs,as instant dismissal :frowning:

I would try and avoid him and keep a low profile, let him dig his own grave. Sounds like the sort of bloke who won’t last long before doing something that will warrant a gross misconduct anyway.

Ignore the ■■■■, because that is what you chose to do already.

If you had said “look mate we weren’t laughing at you, or better yet, let him share in your joke” he might not be such a loud ignorant ■■■■ all the time.

Typical agency mouth lol
Ignore him :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

AAM

cheers lads…i’ll try and keep out of his way

Foxtrot Oscar with that ,You have rights as well, let your firm and his agency know about his behaviour.Things will just get worse ifyo dont nip this in the bud.

Take a dump in his fridge

How to deal with a bully.

Step 1. Is he a bully or just having a bad day?
Step 2. If it’s a bad day, ignore him and he will get the brews in after a few days.
Step 3. If he’s a bully, make him look like a fool first then look him in the eye and tell him to put up or shut up.
Step 4. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Simples.

Nip to the shops purchase some fish, smoked haddock usually works pop said fish in the outlet of the night heater, serve him right for being a ■■■■

Front him. Or it will drag on. Make sure you have witnesses.

haha some interesting replies

but…if i choose Step 3 here,as he’s not the sort to shut up…we’d both be in big trouble, and out of work :frowning:

Hes agency a thats probably why hes agency :unamused: ,have a quiet word with your gaffer and get shut, plenty more where he came from pal,i wouldnt take it off a bloke who worked for the same firm never mind agency knob,if he gets away with it he will think he go round doing what he wants…prick

thanks for all the replies.i’ll think about it overnight and report back tomorrow

Why keep out of his way? It will only eat away at you and drag you down.
Facing up to him, or getting into a fight will only get you disciplined or the sack. it really depends on how you feel about him, and how long hes worked on site. IF hes a regular, the problem need sorting, either you or a work mate have to face up to him and explain the joke wasnt about him and no offence was meant.
If he refuses to accept that and wont back down & still wants blood. Then its time to either baseball bat him, or speak to the gaffer and potentially get him banned off site. IF someones going to be sacked/banned its probably better for it to be him, instead of you

When faced with a problem,I find that doing the ’ robot ’ usually gets a great reaction off others. In fact it will wind the chap up even more while others find your moronic robot dance hilarious.

Job done.

Is it that he won’t shut up. or that you won’t talk up?
Bullies tend to pick on the weak or quiet ones, show him you’re neither and watch him walk away. You say you have 2/3 others to back you up so have a word with them to watch your back.

If you don’t stop it soon then you may even swap roles and you will be looking for agency work while he gets your job. Man up. It’s not a school playground.

Report the incident, you have witnesses to this initial threat, if you say nothing now and the pillock lumps you at some later date some companies have a policy of sacking both parties whatever, so do what you need to do to protect your job, he has nothing to lose so you don’t want to get the push through an unemployable brain donor.

Not like an agency driver to be all loud and overreact, wasnt Connor was it… [sorry Connor, just a cheap shot, welcome back]

Anyway I would sort it out with him if possible without involving the gaffers as it will just cause you even more grief. If it cant be sorted just ignore him till he gets a tough load then he will be on to pastures new.

Sounds like the usual paranoia when regulars flock together and an agency limper hobbles into earshot. Prolly just needs some love

On a more serious note (from my previous post) we have a guy that is forever picking on another driver.
The chap who is getting picked on does leave himself open but he is a mild mannered guy who will help you with anything.
I ended up having a word with the guy causing the issues as he went way beyond joking to getting very rude and personal when he doesn’t even know his victim.
I am on the point if having a stronger word with the bully as he seems to be laying it on thick now and exaggerating issues to the boss about him. :imp:
he is just a young lad thinking he us funny but his victim is stressing and confiding in me.
