I’ll have to beg to differ, but not 100%. I’m sure you’re right about druggies using the job as an excuse, but look at some of the firms that went to the wall because of exposure. Hawkins for instance. They were pushing drivers to go way beyond their legal hours. It happened years ago but nowadays it just ain’t worth it and with this latest one, we’ve got four dead. I’d say there’s a good chance that this Punjabi chauffeur would have been on the beans just to make a name for himself, but there’s still firms out there that push it. You ever seen TNT etc and then star trek up the Pacific or inland Sydney to Brisbane. Different firms, but same crap. They remind you of Russ Hinzes mob, F&H (flying high) tippers.
Harkers, not Hawkins.
I got banned from Star Track for being ten minutes late into Seventeen Mile Rocks, out of Melbourne. I told him he was too late, I’d already decided they weren’t worth carting for.
I knew F&H as fast & heavy. Did you hear abot the pair of mermaids who had the temerity to knock an F&H off for overloading? They suddenly found themselves transfered to Longreach.
No doubt we’re looking at different facets of the same rough diamond, explaining our different points of view. As I said, I’m pretty naive regarding drugs, I don’t know an upper from a downer.
The old memory ain’t what it used to be so Harkers it is. Ha ha, fancy trying to touch F&H… should have known better. Wonder if they’re still out there. Yeah all those carters that flew up the east coast instead of the stuff going by air like it was supposed to.
F&H slunk away after Fitzgerald and the change of government, they no longer were got preference and big rates. After the minister for everything karked it, the F (big Russ’s SiL) got Forsyth going, specialising fuel and bulk containerised grain. They sold out the box side to Qube and the fuel to Emerald, a couple of years ago. The silver A doubles running between Wellcamp and PoB are Qube, still in Forsyth colours.

m.a.n rules:
just being nosey now, peterm how long have you been down under as I read a post of yours about your mom on the dunny
… and star down under same ? for you… if you tell me to ■■■■ off i’ll understand
,just interested… regards m.a.n rules
Me and my mrs came out in '74, after the Brisbane floods and two weeks before cyclone Tracy hit Darwin… bloody near turned round and went back.
The dunny thing was before we got here, my family came out in '69 which brings on another story. I’d separated from my first wife and was living on my own in a flat in Battersea. My parents turned up out of the blue one evening and over a cup of tea said “oh we’re going to Australia.” I’d always been a bit of a black sheep but I didn’t realise how much.
Anyway the rest is history. We’ve been back a few times and watched it degenerate to it’s present state of overcrowding and crime.
Now you can ■■■■ off.
thanks for that pete nice to know a bit about the posters overseas…
oh and bullocks to you and s d u…

Never been sure police pulling cars on to the hard shoulder for speeding doesn’t risk more lives than it saves.

Yeah the Fitzgerald inquiry really brought the cockroaches out didn’t it. The one I hated most was Lewis, I’d have gladly kicked that git to death.

The slimy basrard’s still protesting his innocence. If he was innocent, he deserved to do the time for being the most inept copper ever, including the Keystone Cops.
The Porsche driver’s failed in his bid for bail, while the truck driver’s using the undiagnosed, mental health issues as a defense.
