This vs Denby eco-link thing

So we are heading for longer trucks, good as far as I’m concerned, should have had them years ago. But, in typically British fashion it seems we have just ignored all the ready made set ups from other countries, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden etc and decided to use this hash up. The vastly better option is this one. Instead of one trailer that’s effectively useless unless part of eco link and no good at all for boxes and fridges this has two standard trailers that can both be used normally when not together. Posted this video as it just popped up on my Instagram, Thor Tenden are an interesting Norwegian company and as you may know I’m OBSESSED with Norway! (Tom Vart also another good follow and a favourite of mine instagram.com/tomvart?igshid=101wuu7qarskq )

Pics not great as just screenshots from video.

Why from a driver’s pov,.and not a boss is it necessarily ‘A good thing’ exactly Luke?
I would imagine at a rough guess it will generate around 60% net profit (I’m lousy at maths btw, so may well be way off) for a company, so will they pass that percentage on or somewhere near in terms of extra wages?
More responsibility for less or same money more like, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Cynical as usual.

Scandinavia… Many miles of roads with little traffic.
The UK, many miles of roads that are overcrowded with morons who have no road sense.
So what exactly is the point of this thread?

In before Geoffrey derails it. Woot.

If that’s how tight they have to screw trailers around, the bearings and tyres won’t be lasting long.

Because the world is going to hell in an environment handcart. I was talking as a human rather than driver

Netherlands? What’s the excuse there?

So what have you actually contributed to the topic.Obviously nothing probably because you don’t even know the difference between an A or a B train or why the former is better than the latter.

As for Switch’s question Stan Robinson went there done that and got the T shirt long ago.

But this stupid anti road transport country isn’t going to allow 60 tonne drawbars let alone an 80 tonne A train.
The former being the most practical option for our roads.

All very commendable, but not only has this job made me cynical, it’s also made me selfish,.so I’ll stick to my opinion on it.

“excuse”, excuse for what?
I’ve spent many years driving in Europe, many more than you but unlike you I’ve never felt the need to brag about it as if it makes me superior or special, unlike you.
I can honestly say I’ve never seen trucks in the Netherlands as shown in the pictures, seen many in Scandinavia, so I ask again what’s the point of this thread?

Fair enough. I can certainly see your points. If it weren’t for the environment I’d probably not want to see these implemented too

I will, unlike you I’m comfortable still earning a living driving in Europe instead of claiming benefits as my brain isn’t fried because I couldn’t keep a truck between the white lines.

It wasn’t a truck. God bless.

It does seem…

A bit short sighted not to adopt systems that are already proven and in use.

The other fly in my Chardonnay is money. The firms make more money and the driver now has more work to do coupling up, checking, driving and everything else that goes with it.

Will we see a worthwhile increase in our take home pay? Methinks not.

The other issue with supporting this type of thing of course is that you run the risk of Carryfast agreeing with you.

I did literally think of him as I pressed send

If they (the bosses) want longer artics, why not B doubles like here in Oz? Oh no, I’ve probably wound CF up now.
