I never worry about them anyway, i’m sure they’re all big enough to look after themselves. Leave 'em to it i say !! i never ‘think bike’, thats their job they’re on one.

So following your logic, do you think when you see a truck ‘he’s in a truck so [zb] him, it’s his job to watch out as he’s driving it?’ Then just carry on in your own world? If you drive a truck with that mentality mate, you’ve a lot to learn about good driving and road craft.

You’re thinking to hard and over anyalising it. My logic is what i said above. The OP thinks dedicated left turns and undertaking should prompt us to ‘think bike’. If anyone pulls stunts like that then i aint catering for them. You might do, and you’re a credit to yourself. I couldn’t be arsed with it. Next you’ll be telling me trucks need NS mirrors to spot cyclists so they don’t kill them!! Just get on with it !!!

I think most of the time, its aimed the numpties that dont notice them when they pull out of a junction into the path of a bike.
I will educate, or frighten the life out of any vehicle that pulls out on me when i am in the truck, sod em.
And yes i ride a bike also.

But, I am sure as you being a proffesional driver wouldn’t do any thing to put that prat of a riders life at risk!

Your logic is a little skewed. I agree that people riding like idiots are asking for it. But, that won’t help you feel better if you kill them, nor will the subsequent hassle it causes for you. It’s your conscience - so as you will!!!

if ya think these are bad, watch this ■■■■■■■ dimwit, this idiot is a prime example why us bikers get such a bad name.

First one Ok second one not so, you need to have owned a modern bike to fully appreciate the situation the first one plenty of room, modern bikes have massive mid range acceleration half a turn of the throttle and your gone moves like that no problem, the second guy was a knob end of.

The worst bikers are the fair weather mob, they by far are the most dangerous, motorcycles need to be ridden regularly.
You can spot a fair weather rider a mile off just as you can spot a fellow driver in his or her car from the same distance.

Cruise Control:
Some bikers are idiots and they wonder why they get knocked off, yesterday I witnessed a bike go between an artic that was overtaking another artic, a gust of wind etc and they would of been strawberry jam.

Do you guys think your invincible or something?

No, but they do a nice job keeping the organ doner system in operation.

I agree totally with this bloke, one thing not mentioned so far, in 98% of the cases involving roundabouts, the left lane is perfectly suitable to turn left or go straight on, Just because there is a painted arrow on the road surface, it makes the manoeuvre dangerous in the eyes of the OP

On the second video, the rider is a complete ■■■■ not only because alongside the edge of all our roads is so much debris which can bring you off, puncture a tyre or just make a mess of your bodywork. Plus the edge is not wide enough and a driver does not expect anyone to be there, ever!

Pre-arranged meet, wasn’t too bad in Macc, by time we got up there though it was hell, Buxton was a nightmare, lots of coffee and hot pot in the 5 ways cafe, then a race home

Well, it is potentially dangerous, as why would the average driver expect anything coming up his near side in this situation? Why would anyone expect something to go straight over on their left-hand side when they know that lane is for turning left only? Answer: because there are such numpties out there to try it. It’s not even expecting the unexpected though; sadly such foolishness is to be expected. Point is though, there aren’t 2 lanes marked on many roundabouts so if anyone tries to pass an HGV there, they’d better hope the HGV driver has his wits about him.

I don’t know how many times I felt myself pulling my knees in during that vid, also I definately felt a proper adrenalin rush throughout most of it.

Ross.

PS, & if I’m honest I used to ride a bit like that whenever I got on a big bike, that’s one of the reasons I went back to racing bikes in 1999 & havn’t riden a motorbike on the road since.

But as a professional driver should you not be aware of what is around you at al times

If I see 1 bike I alway look for the second as that is not unusual & yes I pull over to the left for them as would rather they were in front of me as being a biker for more than 30 years might have done some daft things in my time & defo not a fair weather rider as remember getting off my bike & not being able to walk properly due to being frozen in the sitting position

Last year I went to work (Maritime Leeds) on my bike in December, a beautiful sunny day, was supposed to be a day run, ended up out overnight, and it SNOWED, and snowed and snowed.

Literally, the trucks were getting stuck in the yard, couldn’t get boxes on, it was a nightmare, and there’s me finishing work and having to ride home on my bike in that weather, back to Manchester.

I didn’t bother going over Rishworth Moor on the way home, just stook to the motorway and A627 and stayed in slushy tracks and took my time, but god it was arse clenching :open_mouth:

made it though :grimacing:

i had the same thing happen to me wayne when i was at tef transport, been lovely and sunny all week, come friday when i left scarborough it was warm and sunny, by the time i got to bilborough top it was heavy snow, from there i was riding in truck tracks at 15 mph, i even had a traffic cop see me coming past tadcaster, he pulled in behind me and escorted me home, unbelievable but true

The left lane approaching a roundabout isn’t suitable to go straight on if only the right hand one has been marked out to go straight on and the left hand one has been marked out to go left.

As for the acceleration bs if that argument is taken to it’s logical conclusion then anyone driving anything that’s quick, including a quick car,can just ignore road layouts and directional lane markings on the approach to junctions and roundabouts on the basis of take whichever one is the most empty just so long as they (think) they can can accelerate fast enough to get through before anyone, who’s using the road corectly, has the time to shut the door on them. That could just as easily have been a biker riding like a zb. :unamused:

As any driver you should be aware of what’s happening around you at all times and if some idiot decides to overtake in the wrong place the choice might be get off the road to save your own life and his.But.If it all goes wrong for whatever reason and the idiot’s luck runs out in that it wasn’t possible to get out of his way in time or wasn’t noticed in time then the resulting accident is 100 % the fault of idiot who was on the wrong side of the road in just the same way that someone who decides to take the wrong lane/position on the approach to a junction or roundabout and eventually runs out of luck is to blame for his own stpidity no one else.

Although what he is doing is very dangerous and of course illegal, i would cheer and have a massive smile on my face if a motorbike came past my truck doing a wheelie at 70 mph in heavy traffic, i love seeing that kind of stuff, same way i want a supercar to come flying past me at full throttle and not being driven like its a pensioner behind the wheel. :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:
