I understood the law on mobiles to be you can use them while driving aslong as they are attatched to the vehicle via a cradle e.t.c. This INCLUDES texting, so you can text but not when holding the phone in your hand.Surely thats even more dangerous than texting while its in your hand. Maybe the laws changed to take this into account? Possibly using a phone in this way would come under “driving without due care and attention” and so doesnt need the law changing.
The “driving without due care and attention” law has always been there to stop drivers using mobiles but so many were taking no notice of it that a specific offence was introduced to try and highlight the existing law.
