I was goona post something snidey too about the first link, but when I read the correct one it kinda took the wind out of my sails. A tragedy.
I’ve seen 3 people today texting in cars and I wasn’t really looking for them, plus plenty of other foolish stupid shenanigans un-phone related…■■■■■!!
Seeing as she can’t be hung, she should be locked up for the rest of her natural
Locked up and made to text sorry every 5 seconds for 20years non stop while having her ■■■ pluged into the mains so if she dont get the message out in time she gets a quick shock
i can understand people talking on phone when driving
but texting is barny they all put the phone on their laps and keep looking at it
shes going to prison no doubt about it
no remorse being shown
the 21-year-old said she had felt there were times when using a phone while driving was acceptable.
I do wish the law was a total ban on using mobiles when driving as well as any alcohol consumption - much simpler.

It amazes me how many HGV drivers I see out and about blatantly on the phone with it resting again their ear, on motorways and even while on a roundabout!!!
Over took one truck on the A1(M) near Peterborough and he was clearly texting while at the wheel……when will people learn.

[……when will people learn.
Some will never learn - until it is too late.
Others would be dettered if the law was better defined along with a fixed severe minimum penalty.
Having read the forum here which keeps me up to date with whats going on, new laws and so on, it came as no real surprise to see the amount of people using phones, smoking etc both car and truck drivers even on a 20 minute journey through Hull.
This example is pretty bad though, I can see her now…
Prison, yes for a long time, somehow doubt it though. She should NEVER be allowed to drive again period, no ifs or buts. I also think a bluetooth ear piece should be grafted in one ear for the rest of her natural life and every 30 minutes someone rings her up and explains what she did.
There’s no reason that I can see, why you wouldn’t use a bluetooth for phone calls and if you must text, bloody well pull over and do it. Over here, the law is clear. No using mobile phones while your in charge of a vehicle. Unfortunately, the coppers just don’t catch most of the idiots, and that includes plenty of truck drivers. I used a bluetooth when I was driving, and even then, it’s not as easy as talking to someone that you’re sitting next to.

That is what a lot do not realise and is usually their argument for using the mobile whilst driving - handsfree or not - it makes no difference.
They say that it is no different to having a conversation with a passenger
The difference is that the passenger can read the body language, general road situation, weather conditions etc whereas the person on the other end cannot.
But trying to get that message over to some drivers is like trying to get water out of a stone.
I was just wondering about her defence!!!
I can send and recieve text messages without taking my eyes off the road■■?
Is it a new braille phone thats come out I aint heard about!!!
Why don’t they change the law to £1000 fine and revoke the driving licence and made to do a re-test

And make the law very simple & sensible…
… and she’ll be allowed to breed
I stopped in Strensham last night to text Radc. & Mac. on R2, and they didn’t even read it out
i used to use a blue tooth until a 2 weeks or so ago. while i was on the phone having a natter to the wife about her day at work, on the bluetooth, for some reason i completely missed my junction on the motorway. now this brought it home to me how much i wasnt concentrating on my driving. i didnt do anything dangerous but obviously missing a junction just goes to show how much attention it does take from the road. since then i have put my phone on silent and only answer it if its safe tio pull over or ring them back when i get the chance.
i know i only missed the junction but when i looked back on it, it quite scared me to think what could have happened.
lesson learnt i would say
Running Manchester to Southampton last week, about 5pm on the busy M40, I noticed a 4x4 using the hard shoulder as a running lane, obviously not having noticed that the M42 ended about 30 miles back.
He must’ve seen the broken down car about 40 yards in front, stamped on the anchors and managed to avoid it by swerving into lane 1. Thankfully other drivers, including me, were a little more awake and made room for the idiot.
A minute or so later, the same driver passed me, busy texting with the phone in his lap
I saw a similar car involved in a 5-car smash in lane three about half an hour later - not sure if it was the same one, but it really wouldn’t surprise me!
