They told my girl the car had over 5k worth of factory options on it when she got it , including £1500 worth of adaptive led lights , all good until the cars out of warranty when they go wrong
I’ve been trying to explain this to the wife , it’s all right getting a car with all these expensive extras on it until it goes wrong , then your not talking of a tenner to fix it , hundreds or thousands in the ex below ( Ford fiesta adaptive led lights )
I thought same tbh, but just out of curiosity I asked my lad who runs a Ford dealerhip.
With MOT fee, with the work done and the premium tyres he reckons it’s about right.
Tyres he got me for wife’s Audi (which are bloody fat and low profile, non standard) , were a bit cheaper, but he got me them at cost…can’t remember size.
Another whacky mindset that was rampant in certain circles (not just tory ones) was that since we’d experience in having a thriving worldwide empire in the previous era, we’d somehow manage the same feat of running rings around the non PIG continentals who, it was assumed, had no experience in large superstate management etc. Yeah, that was how mentally deranged some of the copium idiots in power back then figured it on the EEA/EEC and then EU club. Look how that turned out.
Sunday , getting stuff ready for work ,off to farm foods for water and snacks
Finish installing dash cam and install blind spot mirrors on MG5 if Amazon are early enough
I got one of those Nextbase front & rear facing dashcams, but the rear facing dashcam wouldn’t work properly, so I sent it back.
I’m still using my older Nextbase dashcam model, it works OK, but the internal battery has died & it’s an almost impossible job to do yourself unless you want to dismantle it & you’re handy with a soldering iron to get it off the PCB. It works & records whilst the car in on but won’t record motion or or car park knocks when turned off.
I definitely wouldn’t be without one with the standard of some drivers, that bloody AEB has kicked in a few times because of ■■■■■■■■ drivers & it scares the ■■■■ out of my missus when it happens to her.
I’ll be on laundry duty again today , It’s a half price leccy day with British Gas from 11:00-16:00 so I’ll get it all done & put the car on charge. I’ve got a few bottles of apple juice cooling in the fridge for when I’ve done.
Sat in hol apartment all morning..bloody pouring down.
Never mind just rang the local sports bar to see if they are showing the Toon Arsenal game, it’s a goer, so afternoon sorted at least.
Back to the grindstone tomorrow, last 6 years working Saturday to Wednesday , so thursday and fridays are my weekends, until the new year when i go to 4 days a week. Cooked a nice guiness and shin beef stew in instant pot,
i was going to put my feet up this weekend but a week ago they put new oxygen sensors on my car ( fri ) , on sunday the eml light came back on , so booked it in for them to look at again , eml light went out on wed , took it it in today & said the code reader was showing oxygen sensors ( strange as according to them it had new ones a week ago , though my suspicions are they just cleaned them ) so after messing about they said the eml light is now off so should be fine , left garage & 5 mins later on comes eml light , so car back in tomorrow .
only good bit is my girls car is now sorted , mot , lights done & 2 new tires
they said £145 to diagnose fault with lights
£595 to mend lights ( that may of included £145 ) but my girl wasn’t sure
£396 for 2 cross climate front tires
i believe the apx £50 mot was included in the original £395 we paid for mot / service / service plan
supposedly as a good customer they gave her discount which made bill £720 ( + £395 id already paid ) in end i gave her £600 + £395 & she paid £120 ( she / her boyfriend ) have been told next time get a car with normal lights on it .
wife said daddies little girl ( 35 ) wraps him round her finger again !!
so tomorrow it drop car off , watch moto gp & if weather is nice ( not raining ) off out for a blast on bike
