Cheers, I’ve had to buy a wheelchair to ferry her around everywhere since she fell last year. She’s got an appointment at Wrightington hospital this week, why the hell they’re sending her out to there I don’t know, it’s bloody miles from anywhere.
Speaking of hospitals…I had an appointment at Newcastle on Thurs about my dodgy back.
So seeing as I do a Wed to Sat shift pattern I used my hols up with a plan for us to go on to a mini break somewhere.
Anyhoo the ###### s cancelled it, so I needn’t have bothered.
Still the 9 days off are still welcome.
great end to the weekend, arrive Schiphol, Sunday afternoon, flight delayed then bumped off at 10pm, next available one 24 hours later, but told come back in morning and maybe get an earlier one. One Brexit benefit, cheap whiskey . But Brexit non-benefit ,last night non eu passport to leave was an hour. And days wage lost.
Back waiting till 9pm for my flight and run out of KLM vouchers lol
Ah! Brexit, the gift that keeps on giving. You get the likes of Sir James Dyson stating that Brexit was a good thing even if it makes you poorer, note how he said YOU poorer, The likes of him, the Tories & Uber rich promoting Brexit always got my hackles up as it was just for their benefit, it had no benefit to your ordinary working people but EVERYTHING to do with the rich so as not to pay net wealth taxes proposed by the EU. WE Were ROYALLY SCAMMED & Dysons wealth has got higher by $3billion since then. I don’t know what it is with righties, but they seem to vote in favour of the rich getting wealthier, same thing happened in the USA with the orange corporate tool.
Looks like you’ve coined a new phrase there mate…‘‘The Righties’’ love it.
As for Brexit?
Crock of sh, …and I voted for it.
(If you cba to find out why I think it’s a crock of sh, have a trawl through the Brexit thread, as I’m done with discussing it. )
On the other hand…the EU…
An even bigger crock of sh which we are well away from, despite Brexit being badly implemented through reluctance and apathy
…(oh ■■■■ ! …I’m discussing Brexit again after all. )
As for scams and taxes …the EU was/IS rife with it, so what s the difference?
Yeah, I get what you’re saying about the Brussels machine, but for all it’s misgivings I’d rather be a member of the EU than not. When Uber rich people fiercely advocate leaving the EU there is always an ulterior motive & less to do with nationalism & more to do with not paying their fair share of taxes, which the MSM played perfectly & swung the vote, one reason I don’t read their twaddle propaganda. I voted to stay in the EU as I’ve always found it prudent to vote the opposite of the Tories, THEY AIN’T FOR THE COMMON MAN WHATSOEVER.
The official figures say the UK economy is estimated to be about 5% to 5.5% smaller due to Brexit with £140 billion in GDP lost through decreased EU trade, so all that nonsense about being better off was way off the mark, the only people better off are the Uber rich.
As I said I’m sick of discussing Brexit, but I’m thinking you maybe didn t get the Brexit thing frim the Tory pov tbh mate.
You say ‘‘voting against the Tories’’, is your thing, and fair comment…, but the Tories never wanted Brexit. They did all they could to persuade the electorate against it…Cameron’s new deal etc.
He was so god dam confident that people would fall for it and vote against Brexit that he triggered off the vote straight after it…then resigned after being totally amazed and bemused at the result.
Let’s face it, if he thought there was any chance of a Brexit vote going forward, he would NEVER have gone with it.
Then they were left with the reluctant task of HAVING to go with an unwanted and unexpected democratic vote for.Brexit.
So hence the cluster ■■■■ of results of it all that ensued, aka my teasons for thinking it’s a crock of sh…
My analogy to ‘‘The Brexit Dark Lord’’ (Franglais😄) at the time was like making Alan Shearer do the job of promoting Sunderland football club
So point is mate if you were intent on voting against the Tories, you should have voted for Brexit.
everyone apart from Thais and their partners are in the long queues arriving to Thailand, as Thailand is one country and the Schengen area is different, and on way leaving it is e-gates so no or little queue to depart., I was just mentioning since Brexit we no longer get a quick passport check, but queue up with all the other non EU countries.
And UK airports don’t have border force at departures. As UK does not usually have exit immigration controls. Exit checks are done by airline staff. I have been asked a few times about visas I needed for a few countries by check in staff.
Yesterday and today a new stamp in passport NL because I left the airport.
Their “Flight delay compensation” guide sets out that compensation is up to a certain amount per passenger depending on delay, but this is meant to compensate for the inconvenience, not to cover earnings lost (e.g. wages).
