I’ve got a dashcam and had it for about 2 years. I’ve had some good/bad (whichever way you look at it) clips but never once did I think about posting it anywhere.
Stuff happens every day and generally we deal with it, unfortunately in this day of technology every error is on someone’s camera or card.
I could post about 2 hours worth of clips of dodgy driving every week but what’s the point really? Just get over it move on and drive professionally, then relax¡
albion1971:
The biggest mistake LGV drivers make is thinking the 2 second rule is a safe distance for them.
The 2 second rule is a MINIMUM distance for a car with an alert driver in good conditions.
2 secs Minimum for a car and 4 Minimum for a truck will never go far wrong.
We are talking about stopping distances.
Safe travelling distances should be greater.
If that’s how you drive; you must be a sucker for enabling motorist’s to cut you up.

This has got to be one of the most stupid answers I have seen on here.
Please enlighten me how you come to that conclusion?

I think it’s the most sensible.
If you’re going to drive your lorry up the motorway, with a gap between yourself and the vehicle in front, that is big enough to fit a Boeing 747 into; you’re going to get the ■■■■ taken out of you.
“I need to get into the inside lane at the last second, to exit the motorway. Which type of vehicle in the queue, is the most likely to have a nice big space in front of it. Lorries always do, there’s one!”.

The average safe stopping distance of an LGV is 60 metres. A B747-400 is approx 70 metres long. Not that different, perhaps the same in rain. Failing to see how the analogy fits to make 60m distance look stupid. Maybe you should resort to football pitches or titanic?

You think it is sensible. Well tell me what you think is a sensible travelling distance from the vehicle in front because I can assure you what I said is a very good guide.
What do you think of all the lorries that travel far too close to each other? Tell me your interpretation of the 2 second rule?(which I can assure is for cars only)
I can also tell you in nearly 40 years of driving lorries nobody has taken the ■■■■ out of me as you put it.

you could work on the principle that, if you are close enough the impact speed will be minimal. Just fit buffers on the front and back of all trucks. If you feel a bump start breaking, if daylight starts to move in from either side steer away from it and if daylight appears from both sides accelerate. No body can cut you up if there aint a gap.
