The date on the video is 22 September 2015 and the comments stretch back 11 months. One comment mentions that 10 months ago the VRN was not visible on any database. Quite possible that the plate had been changed and a new plate assigned to the car.
Mrs Bell is a qualified solicitor who has had her own business since 1990 dealing with transport related issues so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that she knows people in high places. These people look after their own and the idea of some that bringing this to the fore would change the attitudes of those at the top is naive to say the least.
The area I do find eye opening is the response from the MP which openly states that we protect our own, and that anyone caught filming on the basis that it may be interfering with the holder of a judicial office may be arrested. We are all equal, except some are more equal than others, is now not just an anecdotal statement but an open one.
I wonder if anyone up before her for speeding has mentioned this incident and questioned her ability to be so righteous about it?
Probably not but im willing to bet in RDC waiting rooms up and down the country, stories will be told of how they stopped her dead in her tracks by bringing it up and putting her in her place with a speech no doubt littered with legal jargon (with words they probably dont even understand) before saying how they got up and left and said she would be hearing from their legal team unless the charges were dropped and now they’ve “not heard anything since”
It’s like those thieving ■■■■ MPs, with their ‘expenses’ (expenses my arse)
If I robbed your house and was discovered to have done so some time after the event, I am sure I would not be let off with the crime… as long as I returned what I had stolen…as these unscrupulous ■■■■ s were.

I still can not see how she can carry on with her job, she obviously has no honour or scruples when the threat of losing her infllated income is involved.

So, in a nutshell, she (allegedly) did something wrong and the person who caught (allegedly) her was the one who was persued for prosecution (although ultimately not charged).
This stinks to high heaven and the suggestion that her position of influence helped her avoid the consequences of her actions are an easy conclusion to jump to.

The bloke who shot the video has purposely targeted, waited for & followed her. I think that is a reasonable cause for concern for anybody & could easily be classed as stalking, if someone did that to a member of your family you would want the police to investigate it. Especially considering the guy is just some random Joe Public & not some sort of journo.
Also, the police could hardly prosecute her for speeding as the authenticity & accuracy of the speed shown on the video cannot be verified. Nor could the fact she was actually driving.
Princess Anne was done for speeding a long time ago. She said that when she saw the police car with blue lights she just assumed that it was her ■■■■■■.The judge warned Joe Public not to try that one .

Not so sure i can agree either on the “stalking” angle. DVSA indeed have a traffic light system, based on what they think you’ve done, likeley to have not done…yada yada yada. Someone obviously knew how Beverley Bell drove…hence the video. That wasn’t just done on a random whim. And not one of them facts alone have precluded the Police/CPS for securing prosecutions before.
The MP’s response alone confirms it was indeed Beverley Bell herself driving…what more does anyone need to know ?
I’d love more info on this, and i’d like to be able to see part two. And yes, as we’re all “cammed up” now and we’ve all got nothing to hide there does appear to be double standards. Anyone else found jumping red lights and doing a ton on the motorway would find themselves without a licence.
Do you really think that this member of the “elite” would be prosecuted by the evidence that a ■■■■■■■■ such as me or thee could ever produce to the fine upstanding constabulary we have in this country.

It is her in the video, that is beyond question, and I imagine the legal proceedings against/lack of a sequel from the follower probably has something to do with the tracking thing that was affixed to Mrs Bell’s car.

It turns out that the video culprit was the owner of a coach firm in Blackpool who was already well acquainted with Beverley Bell and other TCs in a professional capacity. Little surprise that he’s had his licence revoked as a result. The story is on Commercial Motor’s website.
